Now this little girl is going to be scarred for life, thinking that her hair can't grow(fake hair start from this point....), all because of her mother. It's a horrible cycle, that the majority of black women goes through , during their child hood. If you look at majority of black women child hood pictures, I will bet you 9 times of ten that their hair were stronger and longer than it is now...You don't believe me, then ask to see their picture as a child before their mother put the perm in their hair and you be the judge....

Can you imagine what would the majority of black women walking around would look like, if their mothers' never put the perm in their hair?
:eek::eek::eek::eek:

:eek:It would look like this, but longer.......

Re: Sad Story Little Girl's Journey Back To Natural Hair!..Effects Of Using"KiddieRel

i see the point you wanna make but the issue is.. most black women dont have naturally easy to handle light and curly hair like the broads you posted.

most black women have hard to deal with hair that looks nothing like that when natural. It grows into a nappy afro just like mine would. I dont have a problem with that but dont sit there and post a buncha lightskin curly broads talking about this is what our women would all look like if they were natural.

You are right. It is a tough battle our sisters have to deal with when it comes to their hair. In my opinion though, natural hair/looks is the best, but situations for the most part do not allow them to wear natural looks. Examples are if you work in corporate America for the most part a sister will wear a weave.

I am against putting relaxers in kids hair. To me that is a no-no.

Yea bro I try not to judge.

If a perm or relaxer is the difference between spending 30 minutes to do your hair in the morning to being able to wake up, comb thru it and go, I can understand.

I dig natural looks to. I dont mind perms but its the longass weaves that kill me. Then you got that shit shedding in your bed, in the shower, on the floor.:smh::smh:

I hate longass weaves w/ a passion.

I think the main point the OP wanted to make is how these chemicals end up destroying women's hair instead of helping.

On the other hand, that relaxer is not for everyone.

Re: Sad Story Little Girl's Journey Back To Natural Hair!..Effects Of Using"KiddieRel

I hate hearing that crap about black hair is hard to manage. Our hair is not suppose to be managed like white people's hair. I made my current girl go natural a few months after I met her, it's been 3 years now and she thanks me all the time. She tells me she spends less time dealing with her hair now then she did before. Black hair is not that hard to manage, people are just plain lazy, that's how I see it.

Bro the same shit happened to me......I almost got fired cause her mom told me at work and I couldn't hold back, I spoke my mind and told her how ignorant her and her family are. That they have no pride in their self. I still wanna fight her and her mom until this day behind that shit.

We should never put relaxers in kids hair. That is just crazy sounding. Black women could have their hair straighten with a hot comb before using relaxers. I feel you on the situations though, but I think that black Women would get a pass if more were natural to begin with.

Sometimes lazy but mostly uninformed. Agreed, it's not harder to manage. It's very easy depending on your routine. Most naturals I know can maybe put some extra work in once a week on the weekend (twist, braid, roller set, wash and go, etc), then it's fluff and go in the morning the rest of the week.

This has been discussed many times on SOL.

Most black women have no idea how easy to manage their hair can be regardless of texture. My hair is closest to YaYa's texture now (after like my 100th big chop because I get bored ) and you can pretty much do whatever you do with relaxed hair including wear it up if you don't have time to really do it. You can roller set it for a straight look too.

Been natural off and on for many years and in many different work environments. If your hair is neat and clean nobody can really say shit now without risking a lawsuit.

yeah that shit shouldn't be done especially for young kids.

its rough though black women are competing in a white beauty standard world. real rough for them to not aspire to that.

Is that his "iconic" image?? (No, just him being "trendy.")

THIS is how he preferred to look, and how he was buried.

Re: Sad Story Little Girl's Journey Back To Natural Hair!..Effects Of Using"KiddieRel

I been trying to get my hair to do this for like four years now.

I've been permless for longer.

Aight try this melon

www.tightlycurly.com Terri has a book now too I think.

I do that when I want to wear my hair out and when it gets frizzy you can re-wet it or wear an updo, frohawk whatever.

I use a combination of Giovanni Deep conditioner and SET by Hairplay http://www.hairplayproducts.com/buy-two.html.

Also check out ID's thread on SOL. She had a lot of good vids.

Rake, smooth, sculpt- you don't really need the Denman brush but its nice to have. Depending on your hair texture it won't be the same but it will be very close and very soft. Alternatively try a bantu knot out. That one doesn't work for me, but I've seen it look nice on a lot of naturals. You get a nice spirally look when separated.
