@Fright Night is there a way to add a poll to this post after the fact?

im still riding with Preemo but RZA was a definite problem.

I feel this. I hope they both play some sample intros first an then get into their tracks. Give these cats an education tonight.

I didn’t like the tone of the battle Premier was too complimentary almost fan like. They did give a little verbal history of each track but your idea of the sample would have been better.

Primo needs to stop toying with him, which is what it feels like... being a good sport and all.

He need to bring out the big guns now
Too much sucking up between the two. The gloves need to come off NOW
It was a good battle but I do wish it would be more adversarial like the Jamaican sound clashes. This looked more like they had on ascots while sipping tea and eating crumpets.

Lost Tapes 2 was lackluster also
Yea but that was unreleased stuff that wasn't his top stuff. There was a reason that stuff wasn't previously released lol. That was probably to fill a contractual obligation. I'm pretty sure that kanye project was kanye putting nas vocals over his beats. I don't think nas originally spit those verses on those beats.

I guess I'm the only one that was disappointed in this. Wish RZA was prepared, wish Primo talked less, and wish it was a bit more structured. It really came off as two old dudes playing records rather than a "battle" . Maybe I was expecting something like a Rodigan vs. Stone Love clash.

DJenvy and DJclue playing songs together now. Sound is fucked up again though.

I thought it was great but less talking and more scratching
I liked the stories, but yeah, at times the talking did kill the buzz a little.
Plus, RZA wasn't prepared in the beginning.
Hopefully, they do a a Part II and have all their stuff setup and ready to go.

I was also expecting more, especially in the sound quality department.
At the halfway point, I stopped scoring and just enjoyed the music.

It would be nice if we got atleast one Dub plate, I understand the history of competition and violence in hip hop cost us Biggie & Pac. We tread a fine line when it comes to competition but right now we need a little nostalgia back to the essence of hip hop.

when I saw this video I thought hip hop sound clashes might become popular. I also like the way Wiz handled the surprise Drake Dub plate. Hopefully Diddy joins the fray and comes with some unreleased BIG/Craig Mack dub plate.
