ROE VS. WADE NO LONGER EXISTS IN TEXAS AS SUPREME COURT FAILS TO ACT,UPDATE:Supreme Court has voted to overturn abortion rights, draft opinion shows

What the hell is going on in here...

Again... You know that technically the guy can be sued with this law.... even if it comes out later that the dude had no idea that the woman had an abortion..

This is how bad the law is written

Because the law puts enforcement of it in the hands of the people .... ANY FUCKING PERSON.

The father will have to come to court and use as a defense that he didn't know she had an abortion ....

let me get out of this thread...

Damn. Had this mandate been enacted years back, Cosby would have tried for supporting abortions.

@Tito_Jackson u somehow never want to comment on the UBEr drivers getting penalized
As I mentioned previously, if a person knowingly aids in the commission of a crime then they are partly responsible for said crime.

For example, if I caught an uber and the uber driver knew I was going to shoot a kill someone, that uber driver now becomes a co-conspirator.
where did i suggest paying chid support is a penalty? ! pls show me ! or u just like creating bs arguments and trying to pass them off as "logical issues" until it isnt and it becomes "morality" issue ?
You liked the comment thus signaling your approval and/ or agreement that paying child support is a penalty.

Oddly enough, I'm not against this backwards ruling. It should pressure women to be less reckless, pun intended, with their bodies. If you're fucking a broke and ugly dude cause you're horny, protect yourself.
Coming from king.... reckless...... :hmm:

my liking the comment is an acknowledgement of the comment not an absolute ! it means i see it more than a PENALTY, it works as a penalty but really isnt ,

right but he bares no responsibility in the PREGNANCY ?

There is equal responsibility imo, but not equal consequences. She is the one who has to carry the baby, and has the burden of all the physical discomfort from morning sickness, missed days at work or school before and after delivery, the stigma of being pregnant if she's not married, since it can't really be physically hidden, and care of the child. He can walk away socially unscathed because there is no visible physical evidence on his body where someone can look at him and determine he got someone pregnant.

What I want is for all these religious organizations who were anti paying for birth control because it thwarts God's will to be anti prescribing Viagra unless the man is married with a wife of child bearing age. I'd make the argument that there shouldn't be procreation outside of marriage, and that they are overriding the will of God who gave him limp diq for a reason. Women used to get some rest in their ole age, now they have an 83 year old husband with a 4 hour hard on. They say procreation is God's will so they pay for Viagra, but maybe God didn't want that particular man to procreate.

This person is arguing semantics.

The author is right, technically the heart is not "fully" developed. Therefore, calling it a "heartbeat" is 100% correct.

However, the developing fetal heart has its own "beat" after the first week via the endocardial tunes. These tubes eventually fuse together to form the bulbs corpus, primary ventricle, and primary atrium. The fetal heart is generally fully developed by the 10th week. However, the beat of the developing heart can heard from the 5th week.

Semantics.

A lot of these anti abortion folks aren't worried about the child tho. Some want to control and punish women for premarital sex. Some are worried about the white birth rate and white folks becoming a minority. Some don't care one way or another, they just want to use it as a political weapon. Often the same ones against abortion are against sex education and contraception that could prevent pregnancy.
I 100% agree with this.
It has always sounded controlling and punitive.
HOWEVER...
I don't have a dog in this fight, much in the same way that most women don't give two shits about prostate cancer, even though prostate cancer kills more people than breast cancer. I understand that and expect it.

If a state reinstated slavery laws, I would pack up and leave that state immediately. There couldn't be a more clear signal to GTFO. I guess Texas doesn't want women to stay in the state unless they are past their birthing years? I don't know. People are crazy.

Folks need to stop crying about this. If you decided not to vote for Hillary because she wasn t perfect. STFU. If it was Bernie or Bust STFU. If you were part of the "Don t vote cause it doesn t matter" crowd. STFU.
1. Fuck Hillary
2. This sounds like a Texas problem. This shit would never fly on the West Coast.
The hick states will run with this. Women will leave red states over this.
3. Nobody has to STFU because they don't agree with you. That's just not how life works.

1. Well "Fuck Hillary" got you Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Barrett
2. If you think this will stop in Texas I have a bridge to sell you there
3. It aint about me or who agrees with me. You are living with a SCOTUS who is allowing this and no one can do anything about it but cry bitch and moan.

I'm not crying, bitching or moaning.
Politics don't control me. If you have your shit together you can make moves anywhere on this planet. The same reason someone like you thinks of why something will fail is the reason why someone like me looks for ways of success around or through the obstacles.
I don't have a vagina.
This will never affect me.
It sucks for chicks in TX. They can and maybe should leave. All that harping on the past bullshit you are doing don't amount to shit.
Either adjust accordingly and make moves or wallow in pity. Throw that pity party if you want to, just don't invite me.

The whole point of red states passing laws like this is to put Roe v Wade before the SCOTUS so that they can overturn it. That would impact every state including the west coast states.

Whenever the republicans get back in power, they will cut off federal funding to places like planned parenthood that provide abortions. Even though federal funding with a few exceptions does not go to abortions, over a third of planned parenthood's funding comes from federal sources. If the state sues the federal government, the case will end up before the Supreme Court where they will side with the federal government.

This will impact women in all 50 states.

If Hillary had won, she would have filled both Scalia's seat and RBG's seat as well, giving the left a majority.

Not all 50 states. Some states will permit it, some won't, but it would never be a secure right because it can go away should leadership control change.

If women get mad enough and vote the GOP out of office, it could backfire on the GOP. I'm just not convinced that will happen.

Why do women act as though sex is a one way transitional act? This why so many women are single.

Typical uneducated pro-choice talking point. I mean that not as a diss to you. But, any person with a little bit of knowledge of biology would tell you that sperm are cells containing only half of the genetic information needed to create a human. An organism is a living system which a sperm cell is not.

Not even close to being the same thing. If the argument was women should be sterilized recieve a hysterectomy then suggesting a vasectomy would be an equal and proper response. Again, another example of uneducated twitter folk posting and sharing memes without having a value about the science and medicine involved with which they speak.

Harping on the past is USELESS. You can waste your time doing that or move accordingly. I'm a move accordingly type. Unless you've got a time travel device somewhere, you're not changing who got elected in 2016.
You got a vagina? You reckless dickslinging? Then abortions shouldn't be that big of a concern if you are a guy.

I live in a well-funded state. I also live in a very feminist state. The government could cut funding and the state would pick it up. They would find the money somewhere. Hoes will be hoes. Its delusional to think that abortions are going to go away but there's enough preventative tech these days that if between the two of you, you can't prevent a birth, you're just wildin'. People just don't want to take personal responsibility and use contraception. That's on you.

as usual skip the question n try to maneuver to some other tangential side point, so as to not answer the main crux of the question,
typical uneducated responses from ppl with more "religious" narcissm than actual critical science foundation ! i mean that not as a diss to you ;)!
my question remains, ..... are sperm cells ALIVE or not ?... where does LIFE start if a sperm cell is alive or not?
where & when does it no longer matter and what point does it ?

Light Bright dork ass decided not to add that, huh. Light not too bright.

What state wouldn't be potentially impacted? Abortion would still be legal in California for example without Roe, but it could ultimately be more difficult for women to find access to a provider.

"how the next Supreme Court justice weighs in on Roe v. Wade is ultimately less important to Californians than how that justice rules on some other abortion and health-related cases likely to come before the court.

If the Supreme Court sides with the federal government over the state in these cases, Californians could see curbs on their access to abortion, despite the state laws on the books."

To be honest,

"I think" six weeks is more than enough time to know if you don't want the baby.
You're assuming some clock magically starts when a woman gets pregnant.

Hell, a lot of women don't even know that they're pregnant at the six week mark. That's just one small point in a very long list of why this makes a garbage cutoff time.

We have to stop perpetuating the false narrative that this is a party or gender issue. It is not. The truth that many democrats do not want to acknowledge (particularly feminists) is that there is a large number of democrats and women who do not support abortions. Conversely, not all Republicans and men are against abortion. This is an issue that transcends party and gender distinctions. However, it is easier for many of you to reduce the argument to those easy targets to avoid engaging in more difficult and uncomfortable conversations.

Some states are pro, some are con. Why is that so hard to accept? People in today's society are so fragile. The idea of someone having an opinion that differs from their's drives them into manic behavior. It's actually quite disturbing.

No one is pro abortion. I'm not pro abortion. I'm pro letting a woman make her own decisions. The comments you quoted mentioned conservatives, but it's basically any well off person, regardless of political affiliation, who will be able to travel to get an abortion or hide a pregnancy. This law doesn't affect the people who passed it or their peers.

By definition you are indeed pro-abortion.

Additionally, the law effects everyone. We have to stop creating false narratives. Texas has decided that they do not want abortions after 6 weeks in their state. So, ANYONE in Texas who would like an abortion should leave and go to a state which does allow it, including poor people. You are essentially expecting states and governments to reconsider their stances because it might effect poor people more? News flash, everything effects poor people more including the weather. It's one of the many drawbacks of being poor.

My gripe is this, many people would rather spend time, energy, and millions and millions of dollars trying to convince the public that poor people won't be able to kill their kids because they are poor. When the conversation should be, let's help these poor people no longer be poor so they can have more options and opportunities which includes the ability to travel to another state to kill their babies.

This won't happen because Ds and Rs need poor people. Feminists need poor people. Poor people keep non-poor people employed.

Again, these false narratives have to cease so that we can tackle the real problems.
