All of it is true, but shouldn't have been repeated on tv.

I think that black people as a group are psychologically damaged and because we've been cut off from out african heritage we've spent the last 2-300 years trying to create and sustain our own heritage thats separate from every thing else. We don't know africa and we're resentful of america (As Chris Rock put it America is the like the uncle that paid your way thru college..but molested you)..its that thats driving us to have this "you must be black" position.
I think we have more power than we THINK we have.. Change happens at a glacial pace sometime but it is happening.

Its funny that Cats are trying to act like 9/10 a brotha like this isn't considered corny in our community. Which is quite diffrent from a sell out. But like we have said many times whether you agree with it or not, this is considered corny by the majority. Unfortunate but true.
In fact, I would argue his personality is really the deciding factor. Charles barkely dates and married a white woman, and is a known republican, but bgol and most black folks love Barkley for being a "real nigga".

The urban struggle thing just sounds like player hating...people from the ghetto have a higher hurdle to jump and that sucks but thats also life. The title "cornball" is a derogatory term. Its not said as a term of endearment but as a title to isolate. So the term in and of itself denotes someone who is not "cool" or accepted. Its like calling someone a lame or square. So by default a cornball is less cool than someone who's down with the struggle. Bottom line is its an insult and he meant it as an insult.
Coaches are human but coaches are rolemodels..thats the whole point of being a coach in youth sports. And if YOU heard thats how they talk about him then HE heard thats how they talk about him and thats fucked up.

IMO the general definition of "corny" in relation to black men is the non-threatining negro. It is obviuosly a subjective term. But where I'm from thats generally what it means. The term just seems arbitrary no to mention that parker linked the term as synonymous with being a sell out. And because the term is subjective that means that it can be molded into any meaning that fits anyone particular mood or mindset. And thats whats so destructive about it...it sets up an us vs them or youre different from us issue in a group and black people in general all over the world but particularly in america are the last people who should be doing that.
Thats why that kind of conversation shouldn't be had in public or private because all it does is divide and set up enmity between people.
