RIP to the G.O.A.T. Muhammad Ali

Can you imagine being stricken with a disease that damned near crippled you for over 30 years after being one of the greatest physical specimen on earth, while simultaneously "existing" under the white-supremacy you so tenaciously fought against? What a load to bear. Terribly sad to see you go. But, your work is done here. I hope somewhere you are rejoicing.

There wont be another to fill your shoes. However, if I could develop into a man with the qualities to just fill the space for your pinky toe, I would be so humbled. That's what I will strive for.

Thank you for showing me how to never EVER sell out!!!!!

In 2012, Jack Harbaugh, ex-college coach and father of NFL coaches John and Jim Harbaugh tells the story to the Baltimore Ravens players of how Muhammad Ali influenced his family and every team he ever coached.

Los Angeles, California: Former Heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali (right) leans out of the window on the ninth floor of a high-rise structure January 19th 1981, and talks with an unidentified man (left) who threatens to jump. After talking to the man, Ali approached him, put his arm around his and they walked into the building together. An officer had been there with the man for three hours preventing him from jumping, according to Sgt. Roger Jackson, but said Jackson 'Ali had the influence to bring him in.' Ali happened to be driving by the building and asked officers if he could be of any assistance.

Back in 1979 I was a sophomore at Kentucky State University in Frankfort, a helicopter landed in the field behind the student center. Students, faculty and administrators rushed to see what was happening at our small school. It was during the gubernatorial campaign of John Y Brown Jr, and with him was none other than the Champ. They exited the chopper and Mr. Brown made a stumping speech, but everyone flocked towards Mr. Ali, including me. As the crowd grew the handlers/staff made a path for them to walk through at the end of the speech. Mr. Ali walked the path, shaking hands and showing his support for Brown. As he approached me, I reached out and shook hands with the Greatest. I'll never forget that day.

Rest in peace....

Damn, Ali was an ambassador of the world, especially his boxing career was over. Forever puttin' in work. Rest in paradise brother.

"Fighting Ali" on Spike right now--interviews with many of the fighters from his most famous fights. One of my favorite documentaries.

Man Ali ran a gauntlet of some bad dudes. :smh:
