Rihanna got as many #1 songs as Stevie and Janet

Rihanna>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Janet Jackson :rolleyes:

Stevie did it off the strength of his talent, Janet did it off the strength of her last name + Jam & Lewis, Rihanna is doing by being a product of the machine.

As odd a coincidence as it is, Rihanna is not worthy of being in the same sentence as Stevie Wonder when it comes to musical talent.

No kidding. :rolleyes:

And she got to 10 #1s faster than any other female or solo artist in history. She was only beaten by The Beatles and Supremes. She's also the youngest artist to reach 10 #1s (which only 8 other acts have done).

She's the "artist of the century" so far.

BLUNT, TELL me More....

Oh, I forgot YOU CAN'T.....
:lol::lol::dance:

Janet? No surprise, but Stevie? Damn shame, but it figures when young muthafuckas 'aint got real artists to compare her to. Music today is all style, no substance.

Im not going to sit here and say that Rihanna dont have talent, because she does, but unlike Stevie, she is nothing more than the figure head to a production team. Everything about her is calculated and planed out by a music factory, that pumps out nothing but song after song. All she has to do is what most karaoke singers do fro free, sing the lyrics and follow her instructions. Plus look at her compotion in compairison to both Stevie and Janet.:smh:
Stevie on the other hand had to do all that shit himself.
Comparing the two is like comparing Leonardo Da Vinci to a popular graffiti artist.

Besides formula for determining #1 being different, just look at how long Stevie's and Janet's songs STAYED at #1. rihanna song hits for a week or 2 then gone; hopefully forever. Stevie, Janet, 40 years later and them shits still getting airplay.

Fuck all that, what scene is this from? :eek: :jackoff:

Are records counted the same in this era as in the past, during the Stevie Wonder, James Brown era, if an artist had a number one song, he more than likely sold 1 million copies of that single. I think airplay was also figured into the equation.

Is the formula today the same as in the past, on average how many singles does an artist sell today when they have a #1 single. Someone educate the old man. :dunno:

HNIC

Most likely based upon Amazon and iTunes sales/downloads.

Surpassing in sales and number ones does not equate to surpassing in talent
and timeless music.

She's doing well in the business and that's good.

But when I'm 75-85 years old and wanna listen to some old skool I won't
be telling my grandchildren to pick Paw Paw up some Rhianna classics.:smh:

:rolleyes::lol::hmm:

:smh::smh:

they're changing the rules of the game to help market these bullshit artists...

did you all know they count spins on the radio now? they're PAYING radio stations to play the music, then they turn around and act like these are "great" musical records these artists are setting...

The formula is totally different. SOCIAL NETWORKING have increased an artist probability in having a single become number 1. Plus the competition is weak in the field. The system in record selling need to be reconstructed. people are measuring artist off of popularity instead of talent.

Record sales are record sales..
You count them the way you count anything else.
Artists have never been measured by talent, how could you calibrate it?

There's still good music out there you can access, no need to hate on homegirl, she's doing her thing.

music moves musch faster now

produced faster...marketed faster

micheal and everone else took time to put out classics

name a classic ri-ri album

which one is seriously thought provoking and well produced down to a science?

On a funny side note to make people laugh (in regards to radio rotation/total number of spins) ... the shit adds up quickly too. Driving home a week ago, I flipped over to 3 of the major stations. 2 of them were playing "DIAMONDS" within a few seconds of one another, and the 3rd was playing that 2nd Rihanna/Drake collabo' joint. So that's 3 at the same time (aside from the other spins of her songs they ALL play throughout the day too).

:puke: :lol:
