If Denver really does want him, why would they announce it when the skins could delay his release to try and get draft picks.
smart move, considering how shook they made Carolina look. Keeping that D intact SHOULD be priority number one.
I've said NUMEROUS times this is the best fit for him and his skill set.
He'll have a good ground game and solid defense so he won't be relied upon to win games, he can move in the pocket,he will have good receivers and a safety valve tight end in most plays, and he can get to the spots on the stretch runs,which in turn leads to the bootleg and play action passes, and that will be more dangerous because of his threat to take off and run.
Teach him how to slide and/or get out of bounds and he'd be a perfect fit for a Gary Kubiak offense.

because the skins can't keep him and everyone knows that they will be cutting him. nobody is trading for him because the $16m salary comes too. the new team can renegotiate the contract before a trade, but that's very unlikely in this situation. skins have zero leverage and everyone knows it.

True that only real money a contract in the NFL will get you for sure is whatever guaranteed money in the contract. Once they cut him that money 16 mil is gone.
i'd be ok with that if only he was comfortable in Gruden's offense, but he misses open receivers and looked very uncomfortable when he had the opportunity.
