Teams like the Suns are going for $4B because biillionaires with no real assets need something to cash out on.
Most if the new NBA owners fit the description of new IT/Foreign/Finance guru looking to put their money into something stable.
Meanwhile they bring their blood sucking ways to the sport. They either play the role of welfare mom and sponge off the bottom while never trying to achieve greatness or get rich quick flipper who wants to flip the franchise for a buck.
None of this shit adds value to the game or fans.
Most don't come from the worlds of sports or medicine. So they don't do much to give value to whats going on the field.
Sad to say the the NBA is done as a league. One the local TV contacts go away. The house of cards is going to come tumbling down. When this new national TV contract is way less than Mr Silver is selling reality is going to set in for a lot of spoiled people.
I think that you have the NBA confused with MLB in terms of salaries. You can't sign anyone for more than 5 years so no player is making 400 or 500 million in a contract. Right now the top guys top out just over 200 mil which is great money but waaaaay less than 500 mil.
Teams are evaluated has highly has they are because fan attendance has been high and their TV contracts ae escalating at a very high rate. Their last TV deal with Turner Sports and ESPN was a 200% increase on the previous deal and their looking for between 50-75 billion for the next one.
