As for the effect of Trump being elected, the alt-right don't even care if Trump sits there or not since they see parts of their agenda being pursued every couple
of weeks. Even though Trump is incompetent and causes his own trouble, they are emboldened.

If his impeachment keeps them occupied for the next year and allows enough time for Democrats to make gains in the 2018 elections they may actually be able to prevent him from fucking the country up anymore than he already has.
 
part of me want trump to continue fucking everything up and shittin' on his constituents, really enjoying them reap what they sow. would really like to see real change rather than a personality substitution. would like to see Dem with a non-militaristic, non-wall street subservient, social justice, economic justice platform otherwise they are no different from Repugnants. could give a fuck about impeachment without a rejection of republican ideology and white nationalism.
