Remember THIS Mike Tyson?

Thanks for the link. I just watched about 10 others while I was there.
That man was a killer!

If there ever was a modern day, Spartan - it was Mike. He was raised hard and trained to do nothing but fight since he was a child.

Don King, may his soul will burn in hell for taking advantage of that man.

A man's body + a man's money but a child's mind = nothing but trouble.

Yeah, I remember him. That's the Mike Tyson who fought nothing but bums, whilst dodging Lennox Lewis, Holyfield and Riddick Bowe. All of whom would have, and two had the opportunity to, put a foot in his ass.

Off Topic Comment:

I don't really care for Mike Tyson much now, but I miss the game Mike Tyson's Punch-Out. :(

Ni**a you on crack, some good, strong shit at that. Tyson in his prime would have destroyed any of those fools within 3 rounds easy. You have to remeber that when Mike was at his prime, he did sign to fight Holyfield, but was sent to prison so that fight never happened. Bowe and Lewis weren't even relevant at that point, their names started to ring bells while Mike was in the penile. Mike after prison was never the same, he didnt have the hunger, desire, or stomach for the sport at that point and was just fighting for money. So Lewis and Holyfield did beat Mike, but, not THAT Mike, they beat the spent version (Especially Lennox, who beat Mike at a point when he was obviously over, and hadnt fought in like two years). In his prime, Mike kills those cats easy.

It must be young cats responding in this thread because MIKE was unstoppable in his prime. fuck lewis bowe or holyfield they would have gotten knocked the fuck out  My father stopped purchasing his fights on pay perview because they would be over in the first round. :smh: Iron mike's power was and is unmatched by boxers of present and past. I mean that nigga knocked dudes the fuck out. every fight in his prime looked like that green and codrington fight reference:

MIKE needed direction when cus d'mato died that was it for him. He was not the same. It was like CUS tamed him. If he had that direction MIKE could have easily been one of the two greatest boxers of alltime. OF course the other being ALI.

ALI versus Tyson now that is debatable.

u obviously didn't watch boxing between the mid 80s and early 90s when mike was fierce.....before he went to jail the first time. he fought all comers and only lost to the two cats u mentioned after his skill level had eroded.....mike held it down COMPLETELY from 1985 until 1992. period.

man to this day tyson's knockout of pinklon thomas is still IMO his most brutal knockout...he hit son with like 15 straight flush punches before he fell...sick combinations

Damn TheTruth,

I don't really follow the fights, but I love to watch them if I ever find myself sitting down long enough. When was this Green/Codrington fight? He got his ass handed to him on a silver platter.

Not. Oh ye with the revisionist history. The fight was delayed twice before that. The first time was due to Mike complaining of a rib injury ;) and the second time of a thumb injury ;) . I remember that shit.

Tyson has always been a frontrunner. No one knows this better that his first trainer Teddy Atlas. As he would say, Mike loves "silent agreements". As cbm_redux said, those guys would have broke their collective feet in Mike's ass. They weren't afraid of him.

Then when he comes back, when most of you guys thought he was still unstoppable, he pays Lennon Lewis 4 million bucks to fight Evander instead. People were thinking Evander was done after his trilogy with Riddick and his poor performance against Bobby Czyz.

The simple fact of the matter is this. Mike never beat one of his hall of fame bound opponents in their prime.

No.gif

Sorry fam,
Them cats stayed way clear of Iron Mike when he was putting motherfuckers to sleep on a regular basis. They only came out the shadows when Mike was on the decline and was surely fucked up in the head. NO ONE wanted to fight Mike, NO ONE...

He was the best Heavyweight in my time, period.
