Mac:yes:

I have a PC desktop and Mac laptop. I like both, but in this case, I would get the macbook over the vaio.

I been chilling with my 3 year old plus black macbook and it still performs great:yes:

unfair match up..

The Mac Book comes with Mac OS X..

Apple for the Win.

just bought my first macbook pro - its tight
gonna throw win7 on it later to see how it works out if it coughs ill throw winserver 2008 on it
needed a small portable laptop that wasnt a netbook but wasnt a 15-17in joint either - this 13.3in mbp is the truth
snowleopard upgrade is $9
this shit runs better than other macs ive used or my hackintosh which was runnin on a gaming/mac pro level system
Just had to plug it in after 6 hours of installing software and surfing etc while watchin ufc - my dell and sonys cant fuck with that battery life
shit wakes from sleep in a split second
at these prices I will just buy apple products from now on when it comes to laptops and small desktops and build the rest

the touchpad is the shit. Gestures make doin shit easy. I was worried the keyboard would be too small and that it isnt traditional so that might fuck up my typing etc - it feels great. The build quality is tight too - all passive cooling - no fuckin fan vents to get clogged and the shit dont burn your lap when u use it for long periods.
Got this and a touch for $1200 and I will probably sell the touch. Apple is gonna reimburse me for my Pre.
I liked Sony too. I bought a Vaio in late early 08. Soon as it hit a year in service the fuckin buttons on the trackpad started fuckin up. Other than that its been good. I coulda got some other laptop cheaper with similar specs but with LESS RESALE VALUE.
People will pay you decent money for used apple products still under warranty. Try doing the same with any other pc hardware vendor.

Do what makes you happy. Fuck what other people think. Read the reviews on the perspective systems if you want serious input on quality. The summer 09 macbookpros are getting great reviews all over. Probably the best laptop theyve put out in a long time.

If I could have the Sony hardware with full running Mac OS X I'd get a Sony.

I have to keep reminding myself that my loyalty to Mac isn't about its hardware so much as it is about the stability and reliability of the OS.

Until that is fully possible, every PC can kick rocks. Nigga bigging up PCs are probably them crooks who go around "fixing" peoples computers and "removing" viruses for them.
im kinda different on that- im diggin the build quality of this mbp. The hardware seems worth it. The OS is too but Im still undecided as to what I like more - win or mac. If applescript does what i think it can I will be a fast convert.

Ok let me remind everyone that for the purpose of this thread: I'm comparing a REFURBISHED Mac Book Pro -vs- a Brand Spanking New Sony........

That is still way over the price of a the new Sony!

I have the Sony laptop FW-290, and I love it. No complaints. only if it had an illuminated keyboard ;) otherwise shit is just fine to me.

man....fuck macs

I had the macbook pro, but sold that bitch for $1100

something newer and cheaper....no brainer

Yeah, unless you use your macbook pro to make money...

If you're a regular user, or light design/final cut user, go with the 13" macbook "pro"

If you're an editor, Macbook Pro >>>>>>> All other laptops.

Also, one thing the Macbook pro has over all other laptops is that it holds value and there is a good second market for the laptop.

You can get good change for your laptop a year or two after owning it. I haven't paid more than a couple hundred bucks for new Apple Machines because I just flip my previous machine.

I'm stuck with the MBP I have, because it's the model before the unibody. Also, the design goes a long way. A year or two later and the aluminum body mac still looks great. Other laptops look dated, and wear down easier.

Applescript does!
