Rockstar's western opus Red Dead Redemption II is coming to PC on November 5th. According to the studio, the PC release of Red Dead Redemption II will include both technical and graphical enhancements, as well as new side missions and weapons. Rockstar also revealed that the game will be a Google Stadia launch title.
If you pre-order the game before October 22nd through the company's recently launched Rockstar Games Launcher, you can get two of any of the following games for free: Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Bully: Scholarship Edition, L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition and Max Payne 3: The Complete Edition. You'll also get a free upgrade to the game's premium edition, in addition to a variety of bonus in-game items. Pre-orders open on October 9th.
Besides the Rockstar Games Launcher, Red Dead II will also be available digitally through the Epic Games store, the Humble Store, Greenman Gaming and "additional digital retailers." The game will launch on Steam in December.
Red Dead Redemption II is the first entry in the Red Dead series that will make its way to PC. The series started in 2004 with Red Dead Revolver. For most people, however, their introduction to the franchise came courtesy of 2010's excellent Red Dead Redemption.
Agreed. I bet that's what it was.Yea Rockstar did make a lot of games before but GTA Online changed them for good. If there was an issue behind the scenes, I wonder if Single Player vs. Online was the reason.
True. Rockstar has made over $10 billion... in 12 years... with 4 different games.Between GTA IV, GTA V, RDR2 they've made over 10 billion dollars, the fuck is there to complain about??
R* could have a studio make a pure online free to play mp style shooter. Don't know if it would rival Fortnite but its an option instead developing a 6 to 8 year game.True. Rockstar has made over $10 billion... in 12 years... with 4 different games.
Today, Rockstar Games net worth is over $3.5 billion.
And Take-Two Interactive net worth is $14 billion.
But Fortnite has made about $7 or $8 billion... in just 3 years... with only 1 game.
When GTA 5 was released in 2013, Epic Games was worth $800 million.
Today, Epic Games net worth is now $15 billion.
And Epic Games is not taking 8-10 years to build their next big (single player) game title.
That could be a problem. Over the long run.
That's how some Wall Street folks will look at it. Just saying.
Fortnite is not built the way GTA is though. There's no real story. Plus the business model of adding on to the game without putting out a new title was put in place by companies like Rockstar. If I start it and you build on it I put the blueprint in place, so I'll capitalize next go round even further. Also GTA IV and GTA V were crossing into next gen. U gotta admit it takes longer to build a GTA or a RDR than to do a FortniteTrue. Rockstar has made over $10 billion... in 12 years... with 4 different games.

Yeah, I totally agree with you about Rockstar being "the innovators"... but it seems that with the addition of Google Stadia, the future of video games are proabably heading toward the GaaS (Games as a Service) business model... where you make a game and keep adding on to it & charge gamers a monthly "subscription" fee, or a annual pass. This shortens the development time to get something on the shelf, which can be updated on a consistent basis, every few months.Fortnite is not built the way GTA is though. There's no real story. Last thing you wanna do is rush a GTA game. It's so much intricacy in them, folks would be pissed if it was sub par. They ain't fuck up yet, why press it?Yeah, I totally agree with you about Rockstar being "the innovators"... but it seems that with the addition of Google Stadia, the future of video games are proabably heading toward the GaaS (Games as a Service) business model... where you make a game and keep adding on to it & charge gamers a monthly "subscription" fee, or a annual pass. Keeping this in mind, Rockstar's process of taking more than 5 years to create just ONE (or possibly 2) major titles for each"generation" of consoles may not prove to be 'as viable' over the next decade to come. Either they gotta make their games quicker... or at least not make mostly Single-Player games, with Multi-player as an 'afterthought'. At least that's the way 'investors' and Executives will think about it. Game developers just want to make the best game possible they can... but the "suits" want to make profits in a "certain amount of time". (They don't really care as much about 'being the best' as the Developers do.)
Yes, I totally agree it takes much longer to make a GTA or RDR... but when those Executives & Investors SEE / HEAR how much money games like Fortnite make (with much shorter development times)... all they care about it is 'beating the competition'. And getting a piece of the action.

you see what happened to bio-ware mass effect when ea took over...Last thing you wanna do is rush a GTA game. It's so much intricacy in them, folks would be pissed if it was sub par. They ain't fuck up yet, why press it?
I get what you're saying. But then you can revert back to Fortnite then. They ain't putting out shit else but updating what they have and the shit works, just like the GTA and RDR updates, all while at least I believe they put their nose to the grindstone on GTA VI which is next gen. LA Noire was dope but it didn't sell as well and the facial technology costed an arm and a leg if I remember correctly. I wanna see something new maybe do another Warriors game cuz that was my shit!! As long as the main games don't suffer, but don't force out a title because you want something in the marketplaceI totally agree, They don't have to rush any GTA games.... just makes something else in ADDITION to GTA.
There are 9 different Rockstar Studios. Over 3000 employees. Surely they can make MORE than just GTA or RDR.
Make another LA Noire, Midnight Club, or Bully.
Make a Fighting game.Make an RPG.
Between 1999 - 2010 Rockstar had a fraction of the employees they have today.. but still managed to put over 75 different titles on the shelf in 11 years.
But over the last decade, aside from GTA and RDR.... they haven't been putting out much of anything.
Those were the last games they put out not called GTA or RDR.
- LA Noire came out in 2011... it's 2020 now. That's 9 years ago.
- Bully came out in 2006... it's 2020 now. That's 14 years ago.
- Midnight Club 3 came out in 2008.. that's 12 years ago.
- MaxPayne 3 came out in 2012.. that's 8 years ago.
See the problem? Their development windows are getting longer & longer... and they are putting out fewer & fewer titles.
Hell, why doesn't Rockstar make another Earthworm Jim? Or whatever.
Or anything that does not take 8-10 years.
By comparison, look at a franchise like "Uncharted" over @ Naughty Dog.
Those maps & stories are almost as big as GTA.(Or maybe half as big
)
The first Uncharted came out in 2007. And they have put a total of 9 "Uncharted" games on the shelf over the last 13 years....
PLUS at the same time.... Naughty Dog also made "The Last of Us"in 2013... and "The Last of Us 2" will drop this year.
Look at the list of accolades that The Last of Us and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End has received, over the years.
Naughty Dog has accomplished all of that with only 316 Developers.
But Rockstar has over 3000 Developers.
That's what folks consider also. Just saying.
I think those Executives probably want to establish some "middle ground". They probably want Rockstar to put out a few titles that only take 3 or 4 years to make (to keep something on the shelf) & keep updating them with DLC content every 3-5 months.... while still working on the big guns (like GTA) that take a whole decade.
Not every game needs to take over 7+ years or more to make.![]()
