As a grown man who is thinking about having children of my own, I need to learn how to fucking swim.

I have developed a phobia for swimming(almost drowned when i was 15) and I must conquer it.

Any hints, tips, dvds, swim techniques, and any other sort of advice would be helpful.

I looked up swim classes but that shit is nil in my area. They have shit for kids but I dont see anything for adults.

I have to learn though. Its something that I must do and its the only fear I have in life.

Im tired of vacationing and the crackas our gloating about the water activities they engaged in.

You fucking crackas, I want to swim with the damn dolphins too!!!!!

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Wow, I dont know to many people that dont know how to swim. Personally I learned as kid, my aunt and uncle threw me in to Lake Michigan at a bbq. You should check in to your local YMCA they usually have adult swim classes. It isn't really that hard and once you learn it is like riding a bicycle, youll never forget it.

Yeah when I was about 10-11, we used to go to the local pool and all of my friends would be in the deep end with all the bitches and I would be in the shallow end up with all of the babies and shit  I was like fuck it and just started tredding word like a muthafuckah in the deep and started kickin it with all the 13 year old hoes over there LOL. Good times man.

It's hard for me to explain how to swim when it's so easy to me now but one thing I can say is, tread water

I learned how to "swim" in the shallow end truthfully, in the deep end, I just treaded water by moving my legs in that direction in the pic I posted and by moving my arms that same way. Once you can tread water, the swimming just comes naturally.

Alex, you from Toronto?

you can go take an adult swimming class at your local ymca cost you about 150 bucks for 8 lessons.

I called, they only have childrens classes right now. Not enough adults sign up for our version.

good look, but where is the torrent bruh? This is bgol.

nah, ill buy it if i have too though

Alex, you from Toronto?

Nah bruh, born and raised in Rochester, NY

Learn to float first fam ... U learn that than u will be able to learn alot of the basic swim technique like doggy paddle once you know u can float that fear u have of the water will subside some and than you can try to learn regular swimming techs. Also I would recommend trying everything in a pool 1st the ocean changes too much to try to learn you can get caught up quick and fuck your whole game up

Learning to float first will definetly reduce that fear of water and drowning.

go in a 4-5 foot deep pool. hold your breath and try and sit on the floor of the pool. you will notice how you will float to the top. once you float you can swim. you will conquer your phobia.

so....the black man can't swim:rolleyes:

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

just playing.
its mind over matter.
u have stay calm and not freak out.
whenever i dont know how to do something and i want to learn but question if i can,i always remember this:
If all these other idiots on the planet can do it,why can't I?

start shallow at a public pool,or a friends house,or ymca.
start with the dog paddle.
its easy.

how does that help a person who is possible 6 feet or over?

if he sits on the floor of the pool, the water will be over his head. it will give him the comfort of being under water without the possibility of drowning which makes for a easier learning.

when it comes to swimming, honestly im a bitch

i dont think im ready to do this yet bruh

as soon as i go under, im going to think im drowning

Nigga why dont you sit in a 4-5 foot deep pool, with an anvil tied to your foot on a very short rope with a plastic bag zip tied around your head and your hands tied behind your back. Oh yeah the sooner the better.

swimming is easy and natural. your body already KNOWS how to swim, you just dont KNOW it.

you have to get used to being submerged in water. cause we lose comfort and get anxious when we are taken out of our comfort zones.

you need pool time, get some good goggles so you can see underwater. get in the shallow end, relax and float face down.

open your eyes so you don't lose orientation.

once you get used to it, and dont feel scared, you can frog kick, breat stroke, or whatever to learn to propel your body through the water.

once you learn this, you'll feel more comfortable so you can learn the other techniques, like treading water.
