Ray Ray, Cris Carter OUT @ ESPN, Randy Moss IN.

That ESPN gig is unstable as hell. I liked Chris Carter's commentary during the football season. I started to notice I didn't see him during the draft process, so I knew something was up.

I might be in the minority, but I really liked Trent Dilfer, sorry to see him go. I'm sure he will turn up on another station.

Now what the fuck does Merril Hoge bring to the table :dunno:

HNIC

wait Trent is gone...its OFFICIAL?

Who really fucks with ESPN like that anyway?

Their football coverage is fucking horrendous

Uncle Tommy, Old ass Berman, Chris Carter being called CiCi, Ray was just there, Ditka falling asleep on the set, Keyshawn trying to stay relevant. Just horrible

I spend my sundays watching everything on the NFL Network

Prime, Irvin, Faulk, and company are way more entertaining

and the redzone channel = heaven on earth

Yes NFL Network and NBA TV all day.

THIS

Anyone notice that ESPN is giving women more analysis over basketball than any other sport? Rachael Nichols has a show, Kara Lawson is the go to commentator for the NBA analysis after the games. The host on basketball tonight is a woman as well.

How much more do we have to hear. Woooooop!!!!!, he could....go...all....the....way.... or. Back back back back back back.

ALL of this!!!

This massive house cleaning(Berman and Jackson get to stay, but everyone else is gone tho??) by ESPN, still ain't gonna help their studio show(s) and ratings. Fuck them.

you know something?

Mike and Mike better watch they backs...

see how they completely redid they show and added Molly

all these house cleaning and restructuring and reformatting?

a LOT of big names are gone now.

a LOT.

and so far the only one that made sure to have his OWN INDEPENDENT KINGDOM was bill Simmons over on HBO.

and he made sure to pick up all his own cohorts too...loyalty.

Lets see how this shakes out...

Are there REALLY that many other media outlets?

CNN is out of sports now...

So who you got?

ESPN/ABC, NBC, Fox, HBO?

maybe Yahoo will try to do something.

If someone is SMART?

They will try to not only hit up NETFLIX...but HULU and AMAZON for some type of sports platform...

I aint even gonna post the ideas I got.

but we NEED to get bgol pod network and bgol grantland off the ground ASAP.

Broadcasting Veteran Becomes MNF’s Fifth Play-By-Play Voice All-Time

Sean McDonough, one of sports television’s most versatile broadcasters, will be the new play-by-play voice for ESPN’s Monday Night Football. He will work alongside analyst Jon Gruden and reporter Lisa Salters when the 2016 NFL season kicks off this fall.

McDonough – whose broadcasting resume includes the World Series, NCAA Final Four and the Olympic Games – has worked on major properties including college football, college basketball and Major League Baseball in recent years. He has also called NFL games for ESPN Radio since 2013.

McDonough has been with ESPN since 2000 – his second stint with the company (previously 1989-95) – and recently signed a new extension. He becomes just the fifth person to occupy the play-by-play position in the 46-year history of MNF, joining broadcasting stalwarts Keith Jackson, Frank Gifford, Al Michaels and Mike Tirico, who called the past 10 seasons on ESPN.

“Sean is a premier play-by-play commentator who combines a signature voice with intelligence, passion and humor, and he always brings out the best in his partners,” said John Wildhack, ESPN Executive Vice President, Programming and Production. “Monday Night Football has a rich history and a bright future ahead with our new booth team of Sean and Jon.”

“This is a dream come true,” said McDonough, who will make his MNF debut at the Pro Football Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio, on Aug. 7. “One of my favorite memories of my childhood was watching Monday Night Football with my Dad, who I know is smiling down on me today. I am humbled and deeply honored to have the opportunity to be a part of the most iconic franchise in the history of sports television.”

Added Gruden: “I have met Sean and I am excited about the opportunity to work with him. Like me, he comes from a family of three boys. Passion for sports has been a way of life for him and his brothers. He’s a seasoned pro, who’s called some of the biggest sporting events, including lots of football. I’m looking forward to getting started.”

McDonough joins MNF from the college ranks where he has been a top play-by-play commentator on Saturday afternoon ABC college football and ESPN’s Big Monday ACC basketball games. McDonough recently called the NCAA Final Four for ESPN International, and he has also provided play-by-play for ESPN for Major League Baseball, NHL, tennis, golf, the College World Series and other college sports.

Prior to ESPN, McDonough was the television play-by-play announcer for the Boston Red Sox from 1988-2004. He also spent 10 years at CBS Sports when he was the network’s lead college football play-by-play announcer from 1997 to 1999. As CBS’s lead Major League Baseball broadcast voice in 1992 and 1993, he called the All-Star Game, the National League Championship Series and the World Series. McDonough’s other CBS assignments included a diverse array of sports – men’s and women’s college basketball, NFL, golf, U.S. Open Tennis and the Olympic Winter Games.

In addition to MNF, McDonough will continue his ESPN college basketball assignments after the NFL season.

Smdh who the fuck is this strain looking ass cac.

What did Rev Ray do on MLK?

You didn't see his youtube sermon where he summons Dr King to bring us poor black people to the mountain top with the oh original, we need to stop killing each other before we demand anything of others :hmm:

I don't find NFL Network much better. Deion is often on some bullshit also. He coddles those who he's close with.

but there is balance

whenever deion gets on his holier than thou routine

irvin and faulk check his ass quick

and thats always great tv

Now that I have NFL Network, I haven't watched ESPN's football coverage in almost a decade. Cris Carter was cool, ray was a cooning ass. As HNIC said, ESPN as unstable as hell... at least it is for brothers. Charles Woodson should have gone to NFL Network. Much more instability at that place

They need to get rid of Ditka. He is the worst. Ray Lewis I get, but I like Chris Carter. Oh well.....

Randy Moss is very underrated on his football knowledge.
Don't let his country accent fool you.
I'm one of the few who like Trent Dilfer.
His knowledge on QBs is outstanding and I always thought he would make a great QB coach.

Tom been on Randy Moss helmet for years Be interesting to see him walk that one back.

I seen Randy on NFL Network looking real comfortable a while back. I hope he blow off this shit

That's what makes the show! Faulk ain't scared to say shit. It's a nice balance between all 3 of those brothers.

I do not see where Trent Dilfer is going anywhere. Merrill Hodge has turned into a
reliable racist; his opinions and code words appeal to hateful cacs, who resent the
fact that Blacks are 90% of the starters in the NFL... He will never go anywhere...

But I hope that all these black players who think they have a TV analyst future
start to think carefully before they leave millions on the table in early retirements.

As for Randy Moss, he like Shaq is boring, and does not deliver the personality
cacs think they are getting when they hire him. They expect a brash person who
will boost their ratings, but they get is a persona who is reserved and uncomfortable
in this position.

The person I do not understand in Jamie Dukes on the NFL network. They call
him an analyst; exactly what does he analyse, and when was the last time he
said something even remotely insightful? The guy always looks unprepared, his
presentation, or interviewing, is halting.....

I hope you are right about Trent, maybe I read it wrong. :dunno:
As far as Jamie goes I get it, he does have a halting delivery and it seems like he constantly resets when he hasn't completed his initial thought. But being from the ATL I love the guy. When he first started out on local radio he was worst then he is now. He worked on his game and got better. I always like how he gives the players side, from the non superstar perspective, but I do understand why one would not like him.

I cede the ground to thee....On Dilfer, I thought that he was cooning Ray Ray;
the more emotional Ray became, the more Dilfer, and for that that matter the
rest of that crew, became....and tried to outdo Ray Ray at his own thing.
It was getting pathetic with those affected instances of emotion.... We know
that Ray Ray is naturally hyped up, but when did Steve Young become that way
as well?

I still have to suspect the motives of white men, when they fire a black man....
So the jury is out on Ray Ray for me...
