Too many people throw the word "genius" around when talking about musicians. Some say Michael Jackson was. I think Mike was the greatest performer who ever lived. Genius though... No.

Some say Prince was a musical genius. I think a case can be made for Prince. I feel that he was a virtuoso, no doubt (Just like Jimi Hendrix, Sonny Rollins, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Lee Morgan).

But in my opinion, I think Ray Charles was the epitome of the word. This guys changed the game. I listen to something by him almost everyday.

Anyway... I'm just sharing my opinion. What do y'all think BGOL? Who do you think compares to Ray?

He is nothing short of a genius during a time when blacks couldn't use the same restrooms as whites and here's a black man who's blind comes and changes the sound of the music that was being played,set up his own company and publishing in his name.
