All this season kickers were getting injured… you literally can get your leg destroyed on one simple mishap with a defender hitting your kicking leg or your other leg as you attempting to kick.. pretty vulnerable position.. also slipping, kicking wrong, etc.. many people after a certain age lose their kicking ability due to old age, arthritis, knee damage, cramping, etc.. actually one of the most valuable positions that’s underrated
I don’t watch the NFL. I’m speaking from my experience playing college football, and what kickers do and don’t do during practice. Only during the special teams period of practice are they in live action. Their entire practice time is the equivalent of Indy time for all other position players.

Here's my thinking on this, Tucker missed some crucial kicks that cost the Ravens a few games this season. Given his age and those missed kicks, the team may have been looking for a way to offload Tucker without seeming like the bad guys. I don't think any organization wants to be seen as the team that throws away a celebrated veteran after 1-2 bad plays, but nevertheless the Ravens are making the change.
I believe the team has known about the allegations for years and just kept them in their back pocket. Hell, they probably helped keep them quiet this long, but now that they want to move on from Tucker they let the story leak which gives them grounds to cut ties with him based on the scandal and not the missed kicks throughout the season.
