Rapper Shawty Lo Has Diabetes, Not AIDS, Reps Confirm

Atlanta rapper Shawty Lo has released an official statement regarding rumors swirling about the condition of his health.



According to gossip, there is a popular Atlanta artist who is infected with the HIV virus.



A representative for Shawty Lo, born Carlos Walker, has confirmed with AllHipHop.com that the rapper does not suffer from HIV, but a different medical condition.



“Carlos ‘Shawty Lo’ Walker is not infected with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS,” a representative told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “He does however suffer from Diabetes, a serious condition that effects millions of people, particularly those of color. Despite occasional set backs, Shawty Lo continues his rigorous work schedule in support of his debut album Units in the City. He appreciates the outpouring of concern and support for his health but he is doing fine.”

Shawty Lo’s debut album Units In The City, which was released on February 26, debuted at #13 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart.



The album is currently #46 on the chart

True...but niggas around here have been running with that dumb ass rumor like they've seen the dudes test results or something. When it comes to shit like that rumors can be pretty damaging. It's just like this chick when I was in high school...someone started a rumor she had it and the shit just got out of control within like a week. She actually went and took and test and brought it to school just to shut niggas up.

And even after that folks were STILL runnin with the rumor.

my friend is taking arv(hiv drug) since 2006.nowdays his stomach is swelling as if there is gas inside. due to this he is not eating well. his weight is detoriating suffering from so many acne. i want to help him what should i do?

Yea. . . I was thinking the same thing. It's part of the wasting syndrome that AIDS patients go through. The stomach getting large like that is called crix belly.

There are plenty of things that could cause an protuberant stomach . Such as colon cancer ( and tones of other abdominal problems) , liver disease (hepititis) and heart problems.

And besides there are tons of different ARV ( anit-retroviral ) meds used to fight hIV . Some cause abdominal swelling others dont .

In fact him having that fat stomach could be the worst things for his diabetes. In fact diabetes loves that nice belly fat . Its were insulin resistance marinates and worsens your ability to maintain a decent blood sugar. Nigga better do some excercise..

Diabetes ain't nothing to fuck with because it can lead to so many other problems. That's why I stay in the gym trying to keep this shit in check.:smh:
 
I always wondered why that knicca stay eating some damn potato chips. My boi just thought that was Shawty Lo's thing like cam wearing pink or Wayne with the Shaggy-doo v-necks. I was like "knicca eating potato chips can't be no damn fad."
 
These rumors are so old. Long before D4L or Shawty Lo went nationwide, there were rumors on the Westside that Shawty Lo and Mook B both have that virus. I've heard this from several sources from the neighborhood surrounding Bowen Homes. For a while, I remember Mook B was wearing a bandaid on his face and he tried to holler at my homegirl. She has an aunt with HIV and she told me that the pills that they take cause huge boils to break out on some people's faces. That's why Mook used to wear the bandaid under his eye.
