In December 2016, in Guerrero, Mexico, a criminal group known as El Tequilero kidnapped a local engineer named Isauro de Paz Duque. The area was considered very dangerous at the time, and many people were too afraid to speak up or get involved.
However, his wife, Yadira Guillermo García, refused to stay silent and decided to take bold action. The very next day, people from the town came together and detained several individuals linked to the group, including the mother of the gang’s leader, Raybel Jacobo de Almonte, also known as El Tequilero.
Yadira then recorded a video message in which she calmly but firmly asked for her husband to be returned safely in exchange for the gang leader’s mother. The video quickly spread across the country and drew widespread attention. Authorities also sent police and soldiers to the area to help manage the situation.
When there was no immediate response, another video was released — this time featuring the gang leader’s mother herself, pleading with her son to release the engineer.
In the end, the plan worked. Both Yadira’s husband and the gang leader’s mother were released safely. Yadira showed incredible strength and courage, taking a very bold step that ultimately succeeded in bringing her husband back home.

storytime:
i got a ticket in las vegas some years back
i was visiting and the ticket was outrageous
but i was offered the chance to go to driving class to make it go away
i agreed
we were notified the class would last 8 hours and to make arrangements accordingly
i arrive early pay the ridiculous parking fee find the class and settle in
the instructor walks in and does his welcome and be prepared to stay all day spiel
after he gets us good and aggravated with there will be no bathroom breaks and no lunch break and etc
he randomly pushes play on a vcr and a video plays of a grandma telling the story of how she picked up her grandchild
and buckled them in and then unbuckled them as soon as they left the driveway cus the kid asked her to
she made it 10 feet when she was hit head on and the kid rocketed thru the windshield dead on impact
the entire incident took as long as we had been there to the second
the instructor told us to have a nice day and to buckle up and drive safe on our way
probably the single most impactful 13 minutes of my life
