You must have come across some very suspect women Shane. Neither I nor those I know with the booties were pregnant at a young age and I didn't eat more fast food than the average person, (didn't have the money for it).

New Orleans and Atlanta should be what and what in terms of black wealth and black upward mobility but many factors came into play and Atlanta grew literally and New Orleans drowned literally.

Now after a hurricane and people constantly asking black New Orleanians "how come after 30 years of black leadership is the community still in bad shape" people are visably getting tired and they are ready for real change or as they say "you can have it"

Although I'll be honest I can do with out the dopes from New York living across the street from me.

Other than the Olympics drawing business and more people to the city I can't really explain why it grew when NO failed. NO before Katrina had a lot more history than Atlanta, (most of ours got burned when Sherman came to town), in terms of people and buildings and what not so one would think the historical significance would be enough to draw some people there considering the population.

Atlanta didn't get to be as big as it is until after then when cities almost damn forty minutes away were suddenly "Atlanta suburbs". Come on now. Decatur is a suburb of Atlanta- you can cross the street and be in the other city. But Newnan? It's no where near Atlanta and folks make the commute. NEway, (sidetracked), I think the music industry might have had something to do with it. We had acts to come out the city but it didn't blow up in terms of talent until the last couple of years. That could have something to do with it.
