Does anyone else find it odd, that Black Americans seem to be more religious than whites, when Christianity isn't our "native" religion. Statistically, we may or may not be, but as I've lived that's what I've noticed.

I've noticed that the more educated/intelligent a person is, the less religious they are. Weird?

Do you find religious people unintelligent?

Does it turn you off when a woman claims to want a religious partner, when she doesn't live her life in a devout fashion, other than going to church on Sundays?

Does it seem like black women are missing out on good partners, because of their want of a religious partner?

It may seem like I'm pushing an agenda here, but these are just things that I've been thinking about lately. Some days I'm a believer, but some days it just seems counter intuitive, so I'm not against religion. I'm just examining how other people feel about the correlation between blacks, religion, and relationships.

some women.....'not all'....are indecisive and mere creatures of habit. they want what they see and read about with no regards or thoughts about what the reality of their situation or circumstance may be. so there's no surprise when you meet a hoe that makes a livin by strippin and prostitutin herself, lookin for a God fearing man that has his shit together. when they endulge their minds into religion, it further complicates their understanding to the point they have no fuckin clue to what they want and need out of life....not to mention what they want and need from a man.

As long as African Americans are taught about themselves by someone else, we will always be running around in circles..........

Don't blame the women blame the education shitstem

What i find most interestin/entertainin is how much many Black christians DON'T KNOW about da origins of dat fuckin scripture. The true academic knowledge about how all dat chopped n screwed rhetoric came to be wtf it is today.

It's like dey don't even bother to question wtf dey are bein spoon fed on a daily basis.

Now i ain't sayin it's somethin terrible because growin up i've known a lot of folks who have been able to rise above and survive life's crushin blows thrurbelievin in all dat stuff. Just wished mofos would look beyond just da pulpit and really understand wtf it is dey're consumin.

Shit is mad annoyin when mufuckas sit dere quotin dat shit from da bible like it's fact.

Many religious people substitute religion for thinking, believing that god is external and talks to you via other! While I believe that god is in each and every one of us, and created your mind to be able communicate with him! Now you tell me which one makes the most sense to you.

Blacks are not more religous than Whites and vice versa. Some churches are are predominantly black and some white,so you would assume that blacks are more religous since thats probably the type of church you went to and cause of family members and elders. Knowledge of self and not race or relgion is more important. Who gives a fuck if your black?who gives a fuck if Im mexican or a CAC? I got side tracked.

So what exactly is our "native" religion? I have trouble with the idea of christianity being a "slave" religion when there are records of christianity being practiced in areas that were inhabited by persons of color (Egypt for instance).

By your tone it seems you want to challenge me, if that's not your tone I apoligize, but no need to challenge me. Like I said I have no agenda I'm no historian and don't claim to be the smartest guy on the board(this may sound sarcastic, but it's not. I'm serious). I'm just trying to get some dialogue going on things that have been on my mind. To answer your question, Christianity started in Israel, I believe. That's not our native land. During that time I believe Africans were polytheistic. If not, I don't know what we were, but I know we weren't Christians. Christianity was brought to Africa through whites, I believe. True, it's practiced in Egypt and has been for a long time, but was it brought by other people. Plus, the majority of Black Americans were brought from West Africa, anyway. I'm just saying that's not what we were practicing when we were in Africa at that time, or it atleast didn't originate with us. I used quotations, because I remember reading that Judaism's founding ideals were based off some things that they learned about in Egypt.

Well I said "statistically, we may or may not be, but as I've lived that's what I've noticed," meaning I know that I could be wrong, but that's the way I see it.

uh, u need to read more about ancient africa.....they the council of bishops in ancient africa hundreds of years b4 america even existed

Jesus is a Roman plagiarism of Egypt's Horus. It's irionic. Black people were brainwashed into worshipping a white Jesus, when it was the Black Egyptians who invented that entire virgin birth, three day death, resurrection allegory. White people stole that idea from Black people, whitened it up, bashed Black people over the head (with their own idea!) and, hence, you have Christianity.

It's a scam used to ensure the furtherance of white supremacy and social control.

Many religious people substitute religion for thinking

I've thought the same thing. It's difficult for me to substitute my own reasoning with the reasoning within a book. It's almost as if some people don't trust in themselves enough to rely on their own logic. Like they need to feel like a higher power is going to take the responsibility to live life off their shoulders.

If you think Blacks here in amerika are devoutly religious, you need to go to Africa and witness a spectacle that is truly incrediable!
My travels to Ghana took the word christainity to another level! It was unbelievable how they lived and breathed it.... "Mother Mary Son of God's hardware stor" was the straw that broke the camels back for me! Church parades ALL the time! However thereare also fanatically devout muslims too, Senegal was just as bad (maybe worst) ....
Maybe its something intrensic in our nature that allowed us to embrace a foreign religion that oppressed us and STILL fucking allowed us to not to question it, but accept it!!!! It's beyond belief.

What do you mean by "more religious" than whites? Where do you get your observations?

I've noticed that the more educated/intelligent a person is, the less religious they are. Weird?

You mean in general or those intellects you know personally?

Do you find religious people unintelligent?

Plenty religious people I know have Ph.d's, Masters and are college grads and overall know a lot more shit than I do. I do know some who stand outside the church and make value judgments of whats going on inside pretty unintelligent though. Not saying this is what you do but in general.

Does it turn you off when a woman claims to want a religious partner, when she doesn't live her life in a devout fashion, other than going to church on Sundays?

Sounds like the "we all fall short" thing to me. She's striving and want a man strong enough to GUIDE her steps. Black women don't want to lead a man but to be lead by him. It is in her nature to have it that way but when we decide in our weakness that whipping her ass to force your will, it only makes her more guarded and put up defenses to your bullshit. A skill they developed during slavery. They can resurrect that skill set in a heartbeat, and do.

Also it's kind of a biblical principal church folk talk about.

Does it seem like black women are missing out on good partners, because of their want of a religious partner?

Not from my vantage point. I mean women don't confide that kind of shit to me. Did a few of them tell you that?

Such is the life of walking in Christ's footsteps. Black people serve God like anyone else who believe in him generally speaking. They do the best they can using the blueprint and in large part, it keeps 'em from becoming complete fuck ups in life.

religion is region it's not reason

That being said when a lie is told you must tell more and more lies to cover up for the next one, lastly with the information age we live in the only true way to keep the lie going now is to destroy the truth and hide the valuable knowledge gained from it.

It's a damn shame most holy rollers don't look at the world like a book and start from the beginning and read from there, instead they start on page 600,000 when there religion started.

1. where was the earliest human unearthed (oto) (lucy) africa

2. how old was he/she (carbon dating)

3. What did they believe in at that time (sun) (moon) (????)

4. Where did they migrate to

5. Connect the dots and see where it takes you, you might not have all the answers but you will get a since of whats going on.

I will never forget the day when that burden was lifted off my shoulders about religion it don't happen over night but with rational research and being a objective thinker your on your way to a better you!
