ya I know about the special education play...I used to see parents (lemme point out it was white and black parents before someone assumes I’m only talking about black parents) bucking hard to test their kids for special ed even tho it was clear they didn’t need it...I kept asking around tho and found out they got a check if their kid qualified for services...I wasn’t sure in this case tho if it’d go beyond him being 18 y/o
and who gets custody of an 18 year old...isn't he legal at this point? I know foster care ages out at 18..

I didn’t think about it til this one family kept pressing for their kid to be tested...and I just couldn’t get why...there was absolutely nothing wrong w/ the kid...but the parents insisted on it and the school kept refusing...the cynic in me figured it was a $$$ play on the parent’s part but I couldn’t get counselors to verify it...eventually a sped teacher broke it down for me

Some disabilities are easier to get checks for than others...whenever we get one of this big, brown envelopes from Disability Determination Services, I always call it the, "they trying to get a check" move. You have to send in all this information, like, testing records, rating scales, etc. to prove the level of disability.

The amount of care and love his grandmother provides to that child is TRULY God's love at work - she's right in saying only a person that loves that kid and knows him should be taking care of him, once she's gone. He's an handsome kid with a great spirit and you can tell, despite his shortcomings, he is loved and knows he is loved. I'd hate for that son of a bitch to even breathe the same damn air as his son...
Everytime I see a story on that kid it hurts me to my soul, cause it's something that shouldn't have happened. Fuck that dude, I can't see anyone giving him any type of custody or visitation.
