He was a "double threat": a soul singer supreme who lit up the charts with "You Are My Starship" and more, and one of the great R&B bass players of our time. Tonight we are sad to report the death of Michael Henderson at age 71. Henderson had been admitted to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta two weeks ago for an undisclosed illness, and never recovered.

Was just bumping Wayman (RIP) Tisdale version. Damn man. RIP bro, you definitely did your thing bro.

Damn! R.I.P. to a bass legend!

Funny story: When he played bass for Stevie, Miles Davis walked into their rehearsal spot, looked at Stevie and said "I'm taking your fucking bass player!" And that's how Michael Henderson ended playing bass for Miles.
