I use to see Biz Markie all the time at the Safeway in Woodmore — Bowie,MD 12 years ago. I never said anything besides the head nod. RIP Biz! Nobody beats the Biz.

Grew up listening to Biz and he is probably one of my all time favorite Hip Hop artists. I remember purchasing Long Live the Kane and playing Just Rhyming with the Biz; FONKY!!!! In later years enjoyed him doing DJ sets from his home with some great old school mixes. I am saddened by his death but glad to know he is no longer suffering. Rest well legend. #NobodyBeatstheBiz

Marcel Theo Hall (April 8, 1964 – July 16, 2021),[2] known professionally as Biz Markie, was an American rapper, singer, DJ, record producer, actor, comedian, and writer. He was best known for his 1989 single "Just a Friend", which became a Top 40 hit in several countries. In 2008, "Just a Friend" made No. 100 on VH1's list of the 100 greatest hip hop songs of all time.
On July 16, 2021, Markie died from diabetes-related complications.
