Everyone i talk to says how they wanna go to Canada, and im like, isn't the NAU going to be a reality sooner than later? then where do you go? i hear you though i have a lot of friends from north new york (buffalo area) who moved to T dot. and they love it

My reasons for wanting to emigrate to Canada have nothing to do with Obama or George Bush for that matter. I've always wanted to move there permanently. I grew up on the border (not near it like in Buffalo.) I've spent enough time in Canada--months at a time--to know that for a black man, the experience of living in Canada (as compared with the U.S.) is nothing short of revelatory.

I was watching The News Hour on PBS and they showed the reaction of Barack Obama's home village in Kenya. The hope and pride were on full display.

Guess what I'm trying to say is there's really no good time to touch on a subject this sensitive. I will say that you have my respect for daring to do it, knowing the slings and arrows would come your way beforehand eg Hillary Clinton/RFK

And im not saying that just becaus of your first line, i mean i understand what your saying (i got your point when you said its like a gut punch, that made me think about how my mother felt when she saw the west virginianstalking about Obama) and i can agree that mayhaps this isnt the time.

For the record I do hope that Obama wins and that Hilary is nowhere on his ticket. I hope that all this praying, meditating, focus on change (and i m not talkin bout Obama's slogan) is paying off in the shape of things to come.

I just feel strongly that apathy is their biggest weapon against all humanity. I believe in the power of prayer/thought/mind and apathy takes away that power, and im concerned that there in nothing that will shock people anymore, nothing that will move them internally anymore, and this was my impetus for the conversation i jumped into, which led me to create this thread, but i understand your point, i really dont know when a good time to discuss something like this would be, maybe i could have posed the query differently.

But my feeling is that niggas on this board would be willing to take a bullet for Obama in heartbeat before such a scenario ever happened.

But considering what he has accomplish where if 10-15 yrs plus if someone had said u would have a black man running for president of the Unites States you would be looked at as if u'r clinically or certifiable insane......people or the country would be in mourning.
