Do any of you know any online places that good deals on nice eyeglasses frames - meaning, some designer brand frames (authentic) at good prices?

Plus, do you have any advice for what type of frames one should consider?

I've been thinking about getting these frames...

D&G EYEGLASSES

What frames you guys wearing?

My vision has recently recently deteriorated - I blame Primofan and all the booty he's been posting thats got me glued to my computer.

I just bought those frames about a month ago. I like them alot. They are light weight and comfortable. Check out Lens Crafters. They have them on sale for $199. I am kicking myself because I didn't see the sale before I paid $325 for mine.

I also tried on some frames made from Buffalo horn. The most comfortable glasses ever. Can't even feel them on your face. Only bad part is the run about $1000.

A good optician can put lenses in any frame. Rimless is definitely the flavor of the moment.

Me personally, I just look for a pretty inexpensive pair of frames from like Sunglasses hut overstock and have the optician drop the lenses in.

At the age of fifty, after wearing glasses on and off for 12 years, and contact lenses for 29 years, I got my eyes correct via laser surgery.

Wish I had done it at age 25.

Fuck glasses.

Here is the one thing you need to take into consideration. Its one thing to see frames you like, its another to see them on your face. I would recommend you go to a spot that sells glasses and try on different pairs. Once you see a type or style that you like THEN go and see if you can order something online.

Also your glasses should compliment your face. If you have a round face, pick square frames.

all the above and remember if you twist rimless you'll never get them right again.
and laser surgery only corrects one problem. either far-sightedness or near-sightedness. if you wear bifocals it won't get you out of glasses.

Get some gold and wood frames. They cost 400-1000. You can get them in wood or buffalo horns.

Thanks guys... I'm going to go have my vision tested at Cohen's Optical and see what deals they got there - I might just get something nice off Frames direct.

I'll be honest, I really can't afford to spend more than $200 for these glasses, so I'll have to pass on those Buffalo horn frames.

They didn't have laser correction surgery 25 years ago, and if they did, it sure as hell wasn't perfected.

LASIK, PRK, etc. only really started coming into its own in the last 10 years.

You don't want to play roulette with your eyes my man.

I have some black, plastic frames by Rayban I bought from Lenscrafters.

Try those shits out before you buy, I saw a pair online I thought would be the shit, put em on, hell no.

And I plan to get lasik in my 20's or something. I don't wanna do it yet.

Rimless? No, rimless WAS the fad. Now it's plastic that actually highlights the design of the glasses.

I know this is a BUMP from forever ago... but I'm looking for glasses online and I found 2 pair of frames that I like, the only thing is that I don't know what's comfortable for me.

Never worn glasses before. I did like somebody told me and got my eye exam and got them to give me my measurements on the prescription.

But I'm talkin about measurements for the frames. Don't know total width thats comfortable for me, temple length, etc.

I'm skeptical as hell buying online for my first pair.

I also wanted to ask about lens treatments. What is trivex? What's polycarbonate? What's EV4.0??

co-sign. this bitch put me onto this - she had like 6 different pair of bomb eyeglass frames and a phat ass - so i inquired about the glasses and she said that she'd go to Century 21 (A famous discount name brand store right across from the 9/11 site in downtown NY) and get bomb high end sunglass frames - get those lenses popped out and then have her optician fit prescription lenses to her shit. I used to do that while I was in school - but then my vision got better. i don't wear glasses anymore.

later i inquired about that bitch phat ass. as i suspected... it was available.

the upside to this is that sunglass frames are way more sturdy than eyeglass frames and have a wider range of styles. a lot of celebs who you think are being douchebags by wearing sunglasses at night are just attempting to disguise the fact that they wear prescription glasses.

lol. you saying they didn't have lasers when he was 25? that's just wrong son.

cold blooded.

I kid. seriously tho - I've heard a lot of crazy stories about lasik - for like every nigga who raves about it I know a nigga who can't drive at night or has his secretary reading his emails to him because the glare from his computer screen prevents him from seeing the letters.

glad it worked out for the big homey.

I have 3 pairs of glasses:

A 10-year-old "BS" pair for casual wear and lounging around (those oval-framed glasses that was in fashion back in the 90s).

A pair of Vogue rimless glasses for reading over my contacts

A pair of Dolce & Gabbana half-rimmed glasses for wear with suits

I also still have four pairs of glasses I retired that I wore as far back as '91.

I primarily wear contacts though.

Whats going on fam Certified Optician here one more test and im licensed:dance:. I see you and Dhustla got questions about frames and lenses. Ive been working in the industry for the last 5 years and have made thousands of glasses. The frames you posted are drill mounts and i wouldnt recommend you buying these off the net because these are the most fragile frames and if you need a simple repair no place locally is gonna touch them.

If you are in the metro atlanta area p.m me and i can show you some frames that i have all high end name brands if you not we can negotiate my friend and family discount which would get you 50% off at lenscrafters.

Fam as me any questions about optics i live this shit and will be opening my own shop later on this year when i become licensed.
