Now, to my question. For readers of both print and digital comic content... How do you reconcile what to purchase for your print content vs your digital content? Do you actually purchase any digital content?

I recently dove headfirst back into collecting, and more recently, have started to explore some of the digital content. I am not quite sure exactly how the electronic stuff fits my plan... I like to feel paper generally when i read. However, the idea of being able to lug around a collection on a tablet is at least somewhat apppealing.

What has worked for you?

good discussion.

honestly I got into digital originally not because of convenience but because I was away from comics for so long it was financially and physically impossible for me to catch up with all the back stories.

And when books started having damn near $3 cover prices that hurt too.

I actually still buy print but they are usually complete runs...I only buy single issues if it REALLY catches me, I want to support the that particular publisher writer or artist directly or for the kids.

And there is SO MUCH PRODUCT now.

Digital is VERY convenient but NOTHING and I mean NOTHING beats reading a physical copy.

Its tough to pay $3 bucks for 23 pages. Especially if its sub par.

But the feel and smell of either a fresh comic or a classic out the bag is so distinctive.

Digital for reading it saves so much money

print for resale value, to complete collections, or favorite books

Back on topic... I appreciate the actual contributions to the conversation... Thanks a bunch. Your replies have helped me to more clearly define my goals with my print collection, and digital options can certainly help with identifying new collection options or just for simple reading/viewing options.

To me nothing beats the smell of new book smell. The only reason I download the digital copies is for convince. With work and school I fall behind quickly on all the titles I want to catch up on and I can't tote all those books around. So I'll put them on my tablet to read when I get the chance.
But I still go to the shop and buy prints when I can. I like to have physical collections of the titles I like. Plus I have a variant cover addiction I like to feed from time to time :smh: [emoji38]

What is a variant cover?
usually a special issue of a comicbook with have different covers. you will have the mass print regular issues then some limited editions with a different cover usually by some popular artists, those usually cost more and is what people try to collect.
