Question about websites

How would one go about creating a website that he has an idea for... For instance, lets imagine the guy who thought of ebay...Lets say he had the idea in his head, but knew nothing at all about computers, how to set up an online business, etc... How would one go about this?

Hmmmm that's pretty much one of the most difficult sites to develop from scratch, an eCommerce site but there are so many e commerce softwares you wouldn't need to make one from scratch, you would still need some knowledge to be able to adapt them to your needs, I'd say make an expert do it for you but if you wanted to do something like this, it'd take maybe 2 years of no life outside, just you, your computer/internet.

What idea have you got? I can point you in the right direction to get you started.

If you don't want to share your idea, why not give an example of a similar website? Or say, "I want the site to look like this one?"
