Question about Gun Shows

Are guns cheaper at gun shows than they are in retail or Army stores. I went to an Army store last week to buy a .38 and it was $350.00 dollars. Is that to much??? Would I get a better deal at a Gun Show?

yep....cuz u have the liberty to negotiate price with dealers. however i prefer pawn shops (but for new shit tho). i dont like used guns. and the .40 cal i bought 2 weeks ago only cost me $160. not bad for a brand new piece.

Depends on what type of gun you're interested in. Sometimes they're better because you can buy your ammo in bulk by the crates. I like gun shows just because of the atmosphere. The last time I went I picked up a AK-47. Thats not typically a gun you can purchase up in a regular store. Also why are you picking a .38? At least move up to the 9mm. In the long run you'll be happier. My co workers have been telling me about the XD handgun. They have it in a compact try it out. Supposedly I read it has the most natural feeling in your hand.

That gun must be garbage because a good 40 cal should be in the 500 range.
This is the gun I'm talking about.

I want a 9 so bad but my brother and father said I'm to small for one. Is it true that a 9 jams a lot? Any suggestions for a woman?? I just want protection for right now.

The only things that I've ever bought at gun shows are shotguns and assault rifles. One advantage at a gun show is that you have a bunch of vendors under one roof selling the same shit. If one of them isn't amenable to haggling, just walk to another one.

As far as hand guns are concerned, I've bought all of mine here. They give you a free membership to their indoor range with a purchase. Moreover, and perhaps more importantly, you can try various models on the range before you buy. And, they'll do a proper set up.

I don't own a 9mm anymore. But, my old Baby Eagle 9mm never jammed on me, and I shot it at the range all of the time. Perhaps your relatives were talking about cheap ass Chinese 9mms (e.g. Raven Arms etc...)

I'd recommend a small .40 S&W, period. Much more so that a 9mm (and especially a .38) a .40 S&W will put a mother fucker on his back.

Whatever you buy, you need to spend some time on a range getting used to it.

....and that's what I want.

Smith and Wesson is top of the line, right???

S&W does stand for Smith and Wesson, but it's a caliber of ammunition, i.e. it's the name of the type of gun and the bullet. All gun manufacturers make .40 S&W handguns.

My personal preference, as well as the preference of a lot of police departments, is the Glock 22 (.40 S&W). However, for your purposes, I'd recommend the smaller (same caliber, .40 S&W) Glock 27.

As to what's "top of the line," that's arguable. In my opinion, it would be Glocks and Sig Sauers. Ask a cop was he/she carries, and he/she will probably say one of those names.

Edit: and don't let anyone tell you that a .40 S&W is too much gun for a woman. There are plenty of women who carry them. As with any handgun, you need practice on the range to get used to it. The reason that I suggest a .40 S&W is that I'm assuming that if you have to pull it, your life will be on the line. In that situation, you want to be able to drop a motherfucker dead in his tracks. A .40 S&W will do that, and that's why cops (men and women) carry them.

i have a 9 and ummm never heard of such a thing. I've read tons of forums so I would say no.

But for women, if you're an average sized woman, the 9 probably would be a bit much. If you do decide to get a 9, you have to practice with it is all to get used to the kick. I figure, if female cops can carry and shoot 9mm and .40 caliber weapons you can too. But a .380 probably would suit your taste better for personal protection. Its basically a small version of the 9mm. When I say small its not puny but smaller. Ask the gun shop guy to show you one. Also, ask him your jamming question. I think you're going to get the same answer I gave you.

If your that worried about jamming you can opt for a revolver.

im tryna wait for a gun show to hit the philly area, im trying to buy me some new shit, i got a smith and wesson 40cal sigma series, i love that gun, it's the one i carry the most, for a back up, i used to carry a kel tec p 11, and in my room i keep a 12guage, all which i've brought for under 500, the SW cost 429, it didn't come with any extra shit, the p 11 was used and that cost me 315, the 12guage was used, but that only cost me 210, Im looking to get me a sub compact gun, i just dont wanna pay 400-600 for it.. The range im a member of had glock day, shit supposed to be discounted, but that shit still expensive, glocks were 499, with tax u were still paying alot of it, If anyone lives in the philly area, or near by areas, that know some spots with good prices please hit a brotha up

The only guns that jam are bullshit guns. You put some money into a quality gun and you won't have a problem. I wouldn't buy a .38 pistol myself. I would get a 9mm at least and go to the range. Get yourself some practice. The gun won't kill you but your inability to shoot correctly will get yourself killed.
