Pusha T – Nosetalgia f. Kendrick Lamar

Everytime someone becomes popular it becomes "I don't see what's so good about (fill in the blank)". Man let's just keep it 100. You don't have to like dude and he can bore you but Kendrick is nice and he's GREAT for hip hop. The game done fucking changed. Gucci Mane can't even keep up he over here fighting niggas at Lennox Mall and shit. Wack niggas are slowly starting to fade and niggas are stepping their game up.

Knowing Le$ personally I think it's pretty tight he got fans across the nation

Never would have imagined that

Oh and i don't know HOW i forgot about this dude here......he is OFFICIAL!

Roosh Williams.....:itsawrap:

Na, hiphop dying, edm is taking over.

In 5 to 10 more years these niggas that like Kendrick will hate him

These the same niggas who were 50 cent fans when he dropped GRODT

IMO, Le$ outta Houston is the nicest out right now...dude just makes straight G shit...

To me, this is better than anything Kendrick has ever put out...just a tight flow over a smooth track.

Nah 1 min in and I cant tell you he aint fucking with Kendrick. His first few lines was the same recycled Houston lines cats been using forever. 4's swingin ugk in my tape deck, comin down.

It won't even take that long

Look how fast niggas turned on Drake

i think thinks are a bit different here. I don't see this as the people turning on Drake. Drake turned on the crowd that initially got him his buzz. I use to fuck with mixtape Drake. The shit he's doing now is just boring and predictable. How many hoes can you save in 14 tracks nigga, damn! There's absolutely no growth in his music. He's keeping a formula so that shit gets dry after a while. So essentially, he lost the hip hop purists (who he actually coveted when he first came out) by switching, and now he's boring others by not evolving. This is his own doing by playing it safe as an artist.

If Kendrick follows the same pattern he'll lose his following just like Drake. But I think that's what he was/is trying to avoid with that Control verse. He wasn't dissing people. He was saying how boring this shit has become and it needs it's competitive edge back to push people. People are better when they're pushed. This is why Jay Z has been putting up boring, predictable "meh" bars. There's no one there to challenge his spot. Em is still recovering. 50 never evolved. Kanye is on some other shit right now. There's no one who can push him. And when we're not pushed to do something, we'll stay in our comfort zone if we're not self motivated to do more.

Just my opinion.

This post goes hard. You make a lot of interesting claims that aren't too far from the truth. Very thoughtful post.

The question "how many hoes can you save in 14 tracks?" Made me spit water on my desk. This was a solid post and pretty much sums up my feelings about Drake. He is way too talented to be in the lane he is in and not taking chances musically. Don't get me wrong, when Drake is in he is fucking ON! but he just has a formula that sells and he's not gonna stray too far away from that formula.

I can see this... but nothing is going change unless fans change. The masses are on the Kendrick bandwagon... Not because of his clever writing, interesting concepts but because his shit is also catchy. Since it isn't based much in substance Kendrick can fall out of favor tomorrow.

I remember when you first put me onto that Beautiful Struggle mixtape a few years back. I keep all his work in rotation on an almost daily basis at times.

I can't compare the two because its different vibes. LE$ is that classic down south G shit we used to grow up on. K Dot is lyrically miles above him, but none of that shit matters to the listener is your music bangs consistently.

People used to say Project Pat was wack(probably still is to a lot of folk), but that boy got a certified classic or two depending on who you ask under his belt.

joint was better than 98% of the garbage out now, but overall:
