Puerto Rico is officially trumps Katrina

Listening to Thom Hartmann and he was just speaking about an anonymous source that was in on the big conference call between the white house, fema, national guard, coast guard, etc. last Monday.
Each group was giving updates of there plan.
When it was the white house's turn they had nothing.
Literally no plans.

He needs to get that Katrina coverage from the media because he is failing both PR and the Virgin islands, but he will send out another bullshit tweet and that will consume their news coverage for the day. Same thing happened during the election, they fell for all his bullshit instead of doing their jobs as responsible journalists.

Too early to see if Puerto Rico trumps Katrina...

But I will agree, Trump's handling of this is appalling.
this - PR and VI trumps Katrina - they are going to be finding bodies for months
an entire electrical grid on PR needs to be built -not repaired, but built from scratch

lord only knows how much needs to be done on Sts John and Thomas

worse many of the VI refugees are now trapped in PR

It's a shame for sure and I hope that everyone is able to get back to some sort of normalcy.

That said, I think it's horrific that you don't hear anything about the USVI, considering they are in the same position as PR. That makes me think that maybe they are in a better position (?) to get back on their feet. I hope that's the case.

Then on the other hand, it makes me think we haven't heard from these other countries because they or their country protectors are doing a better job of getting aid out there. When then makes me think if the media is being controlled...

...whatever the case may be I do see the coupon community loading trucks for planes, sending out information for donations drop off points, and posting information for contacts and aid relief which is more than what that orange guy is doing.

Which brings me to my last thought...what thing is not being addressed, what is secretly being done, by creating a media storm of not addressing PR?

I'm just not surprised anymore...I'm not...all I can do at this point is just pray. Glad to know the president knows the definition of an island though.

the media storm is genuine...
the day after the storm passed it was reported the islands of PR were without phone and power
with the power grid completely destroyed and all harbours and airports not operational
everyone with any experience knew immediately a full military intervention is a necessity because you are talking of no power for months on islands of +3million pop. with many hospitals / nursing homes in need of generators and fuel and the sick at home in need of everything from oxygen to chemo to live

but the dumb fucks in DC decided to leave it to fema - conservative principles at their best

one whole week later - fema did not ask DC or Pentagon for help - so no one gave Pentagon marching orders to do anything
so the situation is now exactly the SAME as last week - with people dieing that would have been saved if Obama Clinton or any intelligent competent person had set up this admin. More will die because the help mobilizing over the past few days won't fully be in place until a week from now

As for the VI - lower populations, less infrastructure to repair / build and most in need of evacuation after Irma were sent to PR

I've said this a million times,he make George W Bush look like a Rhodes Scholar and we all know,he's a fucking idiot.

:smh::smh::smh::smh::smh::smh:

Cue up the Kanye West "George Bush does not care about black people" meme's
Someone like Jennifer Lopez needs to get on national tv & be like "Donald Trump does not care about Puerto Ricans"

:smh::smh::smh:

worse - he refuses to hire anyone that makes him feel stupid... vs Bush relied on everyone being smarter than him
so now Trump is surrounded by people that know nothing and the military is designed not to take on these kind of missions without being first ordered to

Just understand what we're seeing and experiencing is genocide. Trump's actions have (at least to me) proven he hates nonwhite people. Add to that Puerto Rico generally doesn't vote republican. Note how quickly the military responded in Texas and Florida. Need I say more? He's a racist its as simple as that.

79. I have heard this several times this week and I rarely watch the news.

Currently, Puerto Rico is $79 billion in debt.

Americans don't care about broke people.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2015/06/29/puerto-rico-debt-crisis-default/29458475/

Back in June they were $72 billion in debt.

MIAMI — Puerto Rico is just days away from a historic economic collapse after the commonwealth's governor said the island cannot pay its $72 billion in debts.

Gov. Alejandro García Padilla, who took office two years ago, told Puerto Ricans during a televised address Monday that his government's attempts to slash expenditures and restructure its debt have failed. He said an analysis by former World Bank and International Monetary Fund officials showed the "harsh reality" of the economic situation.

"Our public debt...is unpayable," he said. "The report states even if we increased taxes and cut back spending, the magnitude of the problem is such, because of the weight of the debt we carry, that it would solve nothing."

White House spokesman Josh Earnest said Monday that the Treasury Department has already been providing guidance to the island's government and that an interagency task force would help identify existing federal funds that it could benefit from. But he said the administration was not considering any kind of bailout for the island of 3.5 million people.

He wants constant good publicity. The governor has been playing that game, giving praise to ensure help. The mayor of San Juan is watching the people around her suffer and die, and is all out of fucks to give.

Good publicity is earned. You can't self manufacture it yourself.

I have always thought of Trump as a "piece of shit," ever since the Central Park 5. But after watching him over the past 2 years I must admit I was wrong. He's a full sized turd. :hmm:
