Pubic Hair......

I must have missed the declaration of war on pubic hair.

It must have happened sometime in the last decade because the amount of time, energy, money and emotion both genders spend on abolishing every hair from their genitals is astronomical. The genital hair removal industry, including medical professionals who advertise their specialty services to those seeking the “clean and bare” look, is exponentially growing.

But why pick on the lowly pubic hair? A few sociological theories suggest it has to do with cultural trends spawned by bikinis and thongs, certain hairless actors and actresses, a desire to return to childhood, a misguided attempt at hygiene or being more attractive to a partner. Surely human beings are not so naïve as to be susceptible to fashion trends and biases.

It is a sadly misconceived war. Long ago surgeons figured out that shaving a body part prior to surgery actually increased rather than decreased surgical site infections. No matter what expensive and complex weapons are used—razor blades, electric shavers, tweezers, waxing, depilatories, electrolysis—hair, like crab grass, always grows back and eventually wins. In the mean time, the skin suffers the effects of the scorched battlefield.

Pubic hair removal naturally irritates and inflames the hair follicles left behind, leaving microscopic open wounds. Rather than suffering a comparison to a bristle brush, frequent hair removal is necessary to stay smooth, causing regular irritation of the shaved or waxed area. When that irritation is combined with the warm moist environment of the genitals, it becomes a happy culture media for some of the nastiest of bacterial pathogens, namely group A streptococcus, staphylococcus aureus and its recently mutated cousin methicillin resistant staph aureus (MRSA). There is an increase in staph boils and abscesses, necessitating incisions to drain the infection, resulting in scarring that can be significant. It is not at all unusual to find pustules and other hair follicle inflammation papules on shaved genitals.

Additionally, I’ve seen cellulitis (soft tissue bacterial infection without abscess) of the scrotum, labia and penis from spread of bacteria from shaving or from sexual contact with strep or staph bacteria from a partner’s skin.

Some clinicians are finding that freshly shaved pubic areas and genitals are also more vulnerable to herpes infections due to the microscopic wounds being exposed to virus carried by mouth or genitals. It follows that there may be vulnerability to spread of other STIs as well.

Pubic hair does have a purpose, providing cushion against friction that can cause skin abrasion and injury, protection from bacteria and other unwanted pathogens, and is the visible result of long awaited adolescent hormones, certainly nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed about.

It is time to declare a truce in the war on pubic hair, and allow it to stay right where it belongs. We owe it to our patients to encourage them to let it be.

I think its trends, we all go through them. But I have to disagree with you, human beings are naive and do follow fashion trends. I believe porn plays a major roll in how people think. Just look at how many people now sport tattoos and body piercings.

Come on LS you have to admit its a thing of beauty. Its a thing of beauty both for photographic purposes and dining pleasures. I would give this owner would get some very special attention. :hotdamn:

If “clean and bare” is a trend it works for me.

But the health concerns cannot be ignored. I know two people who both had staph infections this past year.

A very interesting thread.

BTW I now remember who this pic belongs to but I won't tell. The owner can PM me. :fucking:

The thick bush from the 70s and 80s doesn't fly anymore. I think keeping some hair is pretty much the current trend. Porn has had such a major influence on everyday people, I think that's why we see so little hair both in porn and in real life.

Case and point that pic above (who is that?), its beautiful its something that I would just embrace...among other things. Now throw a bush on top, mingle in a few sideburns and its different. Does it still look as appealing? I don't know but I would love to find out because hair too can be very appealing when its neat. :D

:hmm: you hush :hmm:

I come from the WI where to tell the truth most females keep the body hair. It was actually very strange for me when I first came to the bitter cold of the North where women chose to have zero hair anywhere but on their heads.
I like I said before wanted to try it out see what it would be like. Most WI men who have lived all their lives in their country like the hair. Then again its all they would know for the most part.

Anyways to each their own am gonna keep my hair...:) and as for the question regarding the vagina above  am sure with hair it is still as appealing.. whomever it may belong to. :)

You know the appeal is still there and as you stated earlier it is a safer way to go. Plus when its shaved like that it requires more maintenance, hair stubble can be most unpleasant.

I love the feel and shaved look but I got to be real, if its hairy I'm not going to say forget about it. Unless its looking like Santa Claus down there I'm in. :D

I don't do pubes. The only time I have them is when I'm letting it grow to nair it off again.

Go in the kitchen and get a scrub pad
Rub it on you face between your nose and forehead for 15 minutes
That's what it felt like to eat pussy until the late 90s when people discovered razors worked in places besides the face, legs and armpits.

Hey everyone been a loooooonnng time since I been on BGOL like back when it was free and posting a video was the new shyt. I'm only 31 and a black man but I'm just old school I guess
I enjoy the grown up slightly hairy myself. not too wild growing like vines down a woman's thighs but when its completely bald I feel like I'm with 14 yr old or something lol its weird to me. So I say ladies no more bald keep it a "dark casear"

Stubble scrapes penises raw.

No not raw but new growth can feel like a stiff hair brush against our skin. Now imagine using a stiff hair brush on your pussy. Did someone just cringe? :puke:

So yeah depending on hair texture it can be uncomfortable. Basically the same as when we don't shave for a few days.

Now there is the 5 o'clock shadow for men's beards and somewhere about 8pm is where I like my kitty. I been using Coochy by Slumber Parties for a clean shave, just to keep it interesting, he had the nerve to bring up..."remember back in the day, when you used to have a bush down there...?":hmm::angry:shit I couldn't tell he cared, by the frequency he was down there!

Coochy coochy coo.....to be real I love it hairless. But if there's hair I prefer it to be longer (like a weeks growth) especially if the hair is coarse. That two/three day growth is a no go.

I prefer bald. It is a better meal, and I like to eat. No gagging for a week because of some pubic hair caught in your throat. No chafing.

I don't know why people all of a sudden think of a child. It must be something in their mind, but a woman is a woman and not a girl.

Just don't get the bald look, especially with the razor burns and bumps. Hairy is sexier to me. Nature >>>> trends..
