So by your words, I should only play my XBOX 360 and never touch the great PS3 exclusives like God of War 3, Heavy Rain, Uncharted 3, and other non-XBOX 360 titles because I'm a hardcore gamer. This is why many psn users didn't freak out.

My friends that are all about the shooters have all the consoles and just stopped playing the ps3 and went back to the 360 so they could get their cod fix until psn was back up.

Everyone else just continued to play their offline games. There are a lot of them. I don't know about everyone else but I've played more offline games in my life than online games. Your one of the reasons i dont miss xbox live.

If your all about the call of duty, i tell people to go to the 360. A few sports gamers too.


What's funny about online is, people freak out over psn or xbl being down, and yet Nintendo has been destroying both of them without a real online service or strong third party success.

Enjoy your gears and call of duty, the best news I can give you is that you wont find me playing that game on any system.

the difference is/was, when it came to sega vs sony, I always went with sega. was I a playstation fanboy? nope, i was a sony fanboy sure, prior to and during playstation, sony just made great products.

As for choosing xbox over playstation in the early days. Lets just say where is the arguments for gamers go where the games are?

Lets face it the xbox was a beast of a system. I was going to get one prior to the reports of burning power cords. game for game the xbox beat the ps2 visually.

But its not like xbox had any games. sure one or two here and there popped up. I think reckoning something was my favorite xbox game, and halo ce, played those a lot. oh and running xbmc. then what?

This gen they are doing great with their deep pockets but instead of wooing square away from sony I would have preferred and stuck with ms has they instead tried to keep working with mistwalker. especially since mistwalker seems to have no love for sony and just dropped both ms and sony and is just making ds/wii games. really sad, i like that team.

probably not your type of game but its those mistwalker games how you snatch the rpg gamer from nintendo and sony. So what did ms accomplish? made shitty square enix games multiplatform. They should have let it fail on the ps3 and kept it pushing with mistwalker. or tried for atlus to make some exclusive rpg's.

gears etc came later, so people put faith in unproven franchises.

as far as continuing where sega left off. sega offered a library of games to help take on sony. ms just wanted the online ideas. and all they really did was charge for what sega was doing for free.

online wasn't that big yet. LOL who remembers watching the nba 2k powerpoint slide on sega dreamcast? I mean who remembers playing nba 2k online on sega dreamcast?

PS2 didn't have that live network but had a hell lot more games and socom, ffxi everquest along with a few others after that. No social network and that was a fail on sony's part but no one expected one either.


saints row was xbox's answer to gta. and now that xbox has equal footing with gta/rockstar... no one gives a fuck about that shitty game saints row.

But in all honesty this is a horrible gen for both. sure ms made some strides but its through throwing money not through being a better console/company. I liked xbl for the most part and i like sony's hardware. would have been so much better if they had worked together instead of against.

this gen lead me to building a gaming pc and I bought a nintendo wii and i hate nintendo games for the most part.

I'll post the games list once they are available to the public. Once the ps store is up use that free ps+ month to download all their free stuff, play the shit out of the free games too. your paid ones will still be there.

Your best use of the PS+ for that free month is to use it for the discounts. Lot of DLC is discounted for PS+ members.

qriocity is cool too. Its like last.fm/pandora which you can run on the ps3 browser. But unless your going to stream a lot and often, its just not worth the money, but so many companies are going that route that its cool to check out what sony is offering for free.
But you can just bookmark pandora on ps3 browser.
