So by your words, I should only play my XBOX 360 and never touch the great PS3 exclusives like God of War 3, Heavy Rain, Uncharted 3, and other non-XBOX 360 titles because I'm a hardcore gamer. Sounds pretty stupid to me that hardcore gamers would neglect any good games just because they're on a different console. Sounds more like you're a console fanboy than a hardcore gamer to me.

psn members get 2 games out of a choice of 5. Region specifit, not available until the store is up. Similar deal for psp as well.

This is why many psn users didn't freak out.
My friends that are all about the shooters have all the consoles and just stopped playing the ps3 and went back to the 360 so they could get their cod fix until psn was back up.
Everyone else just continued to play their offline games. There are a lot of them. I don't know about everyone else but I've played more offline games in my life than online games. Your one of the reasons i dont miss xbox live.
xbl is definitely better than psn but unless your a halo, gears or call of duty whore, there is nothing there.
And third party exclusives are pretty much dead. those games are better and cheaper on the pc. Nintendo and Sony have the better exclusives. xbox is really just for people that hate sony for killing the dreamcast. I play left 4 dead on the pc where the dlc and everything else microsoft offers is free.
The only games i wish i could play are alan wake and lost odyssey. (which means nothing since the dev of lost odyssey has pretty much abandoned consoles and moved to handhelds almost exclusively.. which sucks, I like mistwalker)
If your all about the call of duty, i tell people to go to the 360. A few sports gamers too.
What's funny about online is, people freak out over psn or xbl being down, and yet Nintendo has been destroying both of them without a real online service or strong third party success.
Enjoy your gears and call of duty, the best news I can give you is that you wont find me playing that game on any system.
Go to playstation network in the xmb, click on your account management, go to redeem code, enter code, viola, your copy of mk9 is validated.
that is the new method publishers are using to keep people from buying used games, if you buy a used game you have to purchase a $10 online pass (on top of your xblg fee for 360 users) to play online. if you bought the game new a free pass code is included in the game case.
EA is doing this for all of their titles and everyone else is following suit. some give you other bonuses not just an online pass.
battlefield bad company 2 included the online pass code, weapons and granted you free dlc as part of their VIP pass for new purchases and not for used purchases.

obama is pushing for mandatory 3 year minimum sentences for online cybercrimes that breach companies security. As well as immunity against class action law suits for companies that approach the government with their problem and allow the government access to their network to allow investigations.

The PSN/Steam account sync works cause its an in game steam link, by passes psn store.
If your that desperate to activate it, try calling sony directly, see if they can link your account to the activation code from their end. Probably not but its worth a shot.
