Pros and Cons of moving to an apartment complex that rents to section 8 tenants

Damn...and you didnt experience nothing around there? That is what I call FOCUSED!
PROPS:yes:

I was FOCUSED. Strictly work and school. I did party on weekends, but the FOCUS remained to achieve my goal of graduating from college. I really had no clue of what was going on around me at all :smh:

The apartment was just a place to sleep, shit, and shower. :smh:

Seems you took my post all wrong. You stated that they had an inspection and you were found to not be eligible. At that point they had to move you out. Yet while you were there they kept on receiving the section 8 money.

Got you. Understood.

There really isn't no con's to neighbors to much except for the fact that they can be reported and lose their section 8 easly. The pro's benefit the landlord/renter,they fuck up the place, section 8 pays for repairs.

I don't know how it is in other cities but you should see the fits they throw when they lose section 8,its equal to the end of the world!

i wouldnt rule it out just because they have section 8...but you know the rule...you just gotta go ride through the neighborhood at night because it will almost always look like mr. rodgers neighborhood mid-day

Make a down payment on a house...

This! I don't know the Op's financial situation or the city he lives in but it wouldn't hurt to see what the housing market is looking like fam. Out here in Houston, there are some nice homes being listed in fairly decent neighborhoods for very low prices (and that's even before you begin to bargain) . I've been living in apartments all my life and I'm about to cop a crib after this year. I'm sick and tired of renting and its buyers market so I'm making a move. If your credit is good and you got some stacks saved, you might as well see what you can get...

This right here. In fact call around and make sure other places in the area don't rent to section 8 too. We know not all section 8 people are bad, but the ghetto/white trash does tend to follow section 8. It may be cool now, but next month a bad section 8 family may move in.

We actually had a city here that demanded section 8 renters took classes so they knew how to behave. That is how bad shit got. It may not be the section 8 family itself, but the company they keep.

:eek::eek::eek::smh:

I am definitely going to camp out on friday or saturday night for a couple hours just to see what the deal is.

I have always been a apartment cat myself but I will be in the housing market next year bro.

pros:
hookup on food stamps

cons:
* low-lifes hanging out in front of the complex smoking weed & talking loud at various hours of the day & nite
* a gang of fucking bad ass kids in the complex yelling & throwing shit
* some dumb muthafuka parked outside your window bumping some wack ass rap music for hours in his monte carlo
*no parking spaces because your drug dealing neighbors have the complex jumping
*fights, domestic violence & family wars
*muthafukaz knocking on your door wanting to borrow shit & asking for rides to the store

^^^ & that's just scratching the surface,,, i'm sure you'll be able to add a lot more to the list once you move there

Have you experience this personally? Cause I have and it was never in an upscale complex. Im not talking about the $500-$800 range fam.

I've seen in first hand in Gameboy's neck of the woods in Kansas City; the city has an ordinance that all multi-family properties over a certain size must have a certain percentage of section 8 units; I lived in downtown KC (Quality Hill) and my partners lived in lofts down in the KC River Market (both nice areas that have were "revitalized"; ever other weekend someone was getting stabbed, beat up or shot in the RM and in QH, the section 8 area/street of apartments was always full of drama; I was paying $750 for a one-bedroom (expensive for KC) while chick down the block was paying $25; the apartments had a BBQ and pool party and the sec 8 folks showed up, ate all the food and wilded the fuck out

This was back in the late 90s....I called her 'references'.Which was probably some guy lying to me to get rid of her ass....just like I would have lied if the old lady had called me.
Peace

Man that is fucked up!:smh: How doesnt that make people move out and drive the property value down?:smh:

Man they must be related to the bastards next door to me. They constantly litter their yard and the wind blows the trash in my yard. They have loud music, smoke weed in the front yard and have the most fresh out of jail or headed to jail looking thugs rolling up all day and night.

We won't even talk about the time they egged my house because I complained about them walking across my yard to their father.

They make the huckabucks across the street look like the Huxables!

yeah and its like they do the shit out of spite. my wife was out watering the grass yesterday....and one of the lil muthafuckas just rode across our grass on his bicycle like nigga what!! just left a big ass ugly bike tracks across my yard. i dont know bout yall, but im one of those people that take pride in a nice lawn.....and i pay those mexicans and exceptionally good fee to keep my yard up. And since my neighbors are a section 8 family, they are exempt from our subdivision's HOA. im bout to give them niggaz some southside staightenin for real.

you have to do that with every spot ...ride through at diffrenet times to see if the roaches & rats come out at night...:smh:

nothing worst than having to walk through a bunch of losers every damn day :smh:

is this the best u and your wife can do? fkn imaginary players. i guess those blogs and craigslist scams are no longer cutting it....

Prostitutes and ex-Cons of moving to an apartment complex that rents to section 8 tenants

Some people accept section 8 but don't put up with the bullshit. I was renting to section 8 people for a while and I got a lot of people who were kicked out of other places. You get lots of people to choose from so there is no need to deal with the riff raff. I ended up renting to 1 single mother with 2 kids. A boyfriend came along later but he was okay too.

Generally, if the place is well kept, the tenants are well behaved.

Not a good idea to live next to retired or unemployed. Unemployed people have their own schedule and can party/make noise at midnight because they can sleep whenever they want.:smh:

Dude would've had to gtfo.

a big problem is owners dont do there checks more thoroughly then need to go to there current residence check around see exactly how there living and check fb and twitter accounts to get a general idea of the type of person they are.

and baby daddys are another huge problem

OP is a clown, either DL or an outright fag( no offense to the other fags on here)and is not moving at the end of the month with his "wife". You dumb ass cats responding to his thread bashing your own are dicks as well.

Pros: They HAVE to be up to city code.
Cons: Usually hood bitches, who usually entertain hood niggas, and produce hood babies.

Can u blame us for not wanting ur trifling kind fucking up the decorum and ambience of a nice area?

OP, If the property management is strict about MANGING the weeds (section-8ers of the wild-out garden variety) before it gets out of hand, you should be ok to move in
