As far as Prince, what the actually evidence suggests is that there was a cover up of his addiction by himself and his best friend Kirky J, but in the end Prince was responsible for his own death. He clearly knew the ramifications of his addiction, which is clear in the investigation and his inner circle knew.

That sin could include, but isnt limited to, having premarital sex, lying, smoking cigatettes, owning a gun, doing karate, criticizing the organization, watching a supernatural horror film, voting, or telling a dirty joke. Once you're out you can't speak to another Jehovah's Witnesses until they deem you repentant enough to come back in. Any member that speaks to you can be excommunicated too.
They also have their own internal civil, family and criminal court that outrules the state's. Say a fellow JW rips you off in a business deal. Before you can sue him you have to get approval from the church elders. If you go over their heads you get kicked out.
Say you want to divorce your wife because she's cheating on you. Before you can file you need to convine the elders you have proof. If you get divorced without their approval you get kicked out.
A JW babysitter just molested your daughter. Before you call the police you need to call the elders. Unless the elders have two witnesses to the crime you can't do shit. Call the cops anyway you get kicked out.

I grew up the first eight years of my life a Muslim, and after my parents divorced we stopped following. Thank God. I got out before I was too indoctrinated to believe everything I was taught was the Gospel.
The problem with most people is their formative years are spent in a religion so they don't know any truth outside of that or whether what they were taught from the beginning was true that all... The end of the following as their parents followed.
