Beyonce and Jay-Z have been outspoken supporters of President Obama and Michelle Obama. In 2011, she filmed a fitness-themed music video for the first lady’s “Let’s Move!” anti-childhood obesity initiative.
The songstress and rapper were not among the list of talent distributed by the White House — which included Broadway star Idina Menzel, singer Daya and Echosmith — poised to appear Monday.

President Barack Obama invited Nicki Minaj, Pusha T, Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, Busta Rhymes, Common, J. Cole, Alicia Keys, and more, to discuss the My Brother’s Keeper initiative.

All of the artists have either been active in social justice movements or have formed non-profit organizations that fall in line with the goals of the My Brother’s Keeper initiative.
“Many of these artists have lent their voices and platforms to promoting these issues,” according to a White House official who spoke to The Hill. “Through their own nonprofit work or artistic commitment, many of these artists have found ways to engage on the issues of criminal justice reform and empowering disadvantaged young people across the country.”
Following the meeting celebrities took to social media to show their admiration for President Obama:
Pusha T tweeted, “Just leaving the White House… I never got to go on my elementary school field trip there. Thanx for the invite @potus #MyBrothersKeeper”
Shorty Awards winner DJ Khaled shared a Snap of himself and J. Cole after their meeting with the President on Instagram captioned,

The visuals of this man, his wife and his family will be missed.
His jokes and comedic timing will be missed.
The coolness in which he carried himself will be missed.
Him as president, eh not so much.
I have said it before, his biggest accomplishment in my view was the image he has given to black children that you can achieve anything and be whatever you want.
No longer can a teacher ask a student what he wants to be and when he says president or doctor can they tell him why not a plumber or some other trade.
Hopefully once he is out of office and no longer subject to bullshit , he can use his standing to actually make a difference in his community

He was extremely weak when it came to black issues. All indicators show a steep decline in our economic prosperity. He promotes trade deals that will decimate more manufacturing jobs that minorities need by claiming that China will write the rules.

No disrespect to Obama but my heart desires a real change. We are talking about complete separation and a black house. He took a job that Jesse Jackson, Shirley Chisholm, and Cynthia McKinney wanted and tried to get. But there are a lot of blacks that say they would not take the job even if it was offered to them. Dr. King stated he would not take the job even if they offered it to him.

The President has some powers but he can do little without congressional support. Hell look at the BS he went through just to establish Obamacare. No president has ever had to deal with the idiocy Obama had to deal with. Many are quick to point their fingers but few seem to recognize where Obama failed we also failed.
What did you want reparations? Then where was the organized effort from us "the people"? No petitions, not one rally, nothing to force congress to address or to at least look at the possibility. The job of elected officials is to do the will of the people. But because the people are so indifferent to what happens on political levels politicians are free to do what they want, like cater to special interest groups.
It's doubtful we will ever see another president who had to work through the bullshit this president had to endure. An lets not forget what Obama inherited. Bush had made such a mess of running this country Obama had to start work immediately to prevent financial collapse of this country. Never before had a incoming president have to start working before their inauguration to office.
BTW yeah Obama will be leaving office but Thomas is going no where. Supreme court appointments are lifelong.
