I'm not at all anti-gun, but Plax needs to realize that being a knucklehead is stupid and the one way to do that is make him hurt...and the one way to do that is for him to do time and/or miss out on some SERIOUS income.

Not only was he carrying where he wasn't supposed to carry... but the dumbasss shoots himself.... thankfully the bullet didn't hit any bystanders... then he and his friends do all they could to keep the incident undercover.... then he avoids the cops... and this is all after he has been a headcase for how long? lol, idiots like him need to learn.

a simple application of the safety trigger would have kept Plaxico, and more importantly others, out of harm's way. Look - he had to have had a round chambered AND the safety had to be disengaged. That's stupid x fail x a thousand. Police: Jags' Jones found cutting cocaine with credit card

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Matt Jones faces a felony drug charge in his former college town after police say he was inside a car cutting up cocaine with a credit card.

The 25-year-old Jones and two others were arrested early Thursday. A police report said officers approached the car and an officer drew his handgun after Jones did not immediately show his hands.

Police said they searched the vehicle and found a plastic bag filled with a white substance that tested positive for cocaine and a jar with possible marijuana residue.

Jared Hicks and Benjamin Cook were also arrested on misdemeanor drug charges.

Jones was released from the Washington County jail on $2,500 bond. His arraignment on a charge of felony possession of a controlled substance was set for Aug. 11, two days after Jacksonville's preseason opener against Atlanta.

Police said 6 grams of cocaine was found. The threshold for potential charges of possession with intent to deliver is 1 gram. However, prosecutor John Threet said there is no evidence that Jones intended to deal the drug.

The Jacksonville Jaguars were bracing themselves for word that a suspension of wide receiver Matt Jones could be coming.

Now the word has come: ESPN’s Chris Mortensen is reporting that Jones has been suspended three games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.

If Jones is not able to get the suspension reduced on appeal, he’ll miss games at home against the Browns, at the Bengals and at the Lions. Those are all games the Jaguars will be favored to win, even without Jones, who has started all six games this season and caught 30 passes for 338 yards.

The suspension stems from Jones’ arrest over the summer. Jones entered a drug intervention program to avoid prosecution on felony cocaine possession charges.

Plaxico BurressNY Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress may be arrested on felony gun charges after shooting himself in a NYC club this weekend, and his teammate could be charged with trying to cover it up.

Burress went to the Latin Quarter nightclub but was initially turned away, according to the New York Daily News. But the paper says club management had a change of heart after Burress came back, "flashing jewelry and carrying loads of cash," reportedly telling management he needed the gun for protection.

According to the Daily News, Burress was being taken into a VIP area when he fumbled with the gun as it began slipping down his pant leg. The gun fired, and the bullet tore through his leg.

According to the paper Burress told his teammate Antonio Pierce not to call 911. Pierce then reportedly helped Burress out of the club and they allegedly 86'd the gun somewhere in New Jersey.

The Daily News claims Burress tried hard to cover it all up, but the plan was foiled after a Giants employee called the NYPD and reported the incident.
