I believe that you're serious because those are the same drugs that I got in my treatment and prior to my chemo I had no idea what "CHOP" was. You're going to have neon pee for the next few months, but that part isn't a big deal.

Ask your doctor about an autologous bone marrow transplant.....not 100% sure if they do those for that specific lymphoma but that treatment could be an option
I'm not an expert, but I do have experience in this particular diagnosis. I'm sure that they've already done a bone marrow biopsy to check to see if the cancer has made it to his bone marrow. He'd know because they'd have to drill into his hip bone, stick a big ass syringe in, and suck out bone marrow (shit is excruciating). If those tests come back negative, there is no need to do any bone marrow transplants.
