Y'all know I work for a radio station here in Memphis and our afternoon DJ is one of Three 6 Mafia's tour DJs. Boogaloo was talking to DJ Paul yesterday and Paul said that they (3-6) had invited UGK out to L.A. to start working on a new project. They had recorded 6 songs so far for a joint Rap-A-Lot/Hypnotized Minds release. It was going to be an "Underground Mafia" album putting both groups together. Paul said he had just talked to Pimp C the night before and that he was expected in the studio the next morning. When he didn't show up to the studio, they didn't know what was going on because they were not getting an answer when they were calling him. And then they got the same news that we got, that he was dead in his hotel room. Boogaloo will probably have 3-6 on the air later today, so if you want to listen, he's on the air from 3-7 pm cst and our web address is: www.hot1071.com

I don't understand what's the rationale when people post these type of comments. I could understand if it was a sweeping statement from Blunt or something along those lines, but did you know Pimp C? What gives you the right to speak on every rapper and what he or she supposedly isn't doing?
When you do something and give back to the hood, it's almost a no-win situation these days. You give money out your own pocket, donate percentages out of your sales to initiatives, give jobs to people in your hometowns and neighborhoods (who REALLY don't deserve the job in the first place) and generally try to give back in some form, but if you don't have a camera crew following you around or a press release sent out about the money you're giving out, then "you ain't doing shit but hurting the community".
I'm not gonna say Pimp or any other prominent cat in the industry is/was a role model for black youth and a pillar of social values. At the same time though, when people do things to give back, it's assumed that that's their duty and no one big-ups them when they do. Nobody ever talks about white entertainers or athletes not giving back to their community. Tom Brady can have baby mama drama, but the hot story is Travis Henry & his Shawn Kemp situation.
Stephen Jackson is from P.A. also and has done numerous things to give back to his community, from opening a private school for low-income kids to get a better education, giving back to his church, paying for kids' tutitons, AAU & summer track fees and putting on free basketball clinics & camps. If you go by his media image though, he ain't nothing but a thug ass nigga that can't leave the hood alone.
I guess what's sad the most is another black man who was living his dream transitioned too soon, and instead of letting the man R.I.P. peeps are focusing on all the negative shit.
One day you're here & the next day you're gone. Rest in peace C.

My guess is that cocaine has something to do with this. It can cause you to have a heart attack and if you already have heart issues, it's not a good mix.
