I came out of that shit the same way. Visually I thought it was impressive. I can't even say if it sucked or if its a mess because I don't really understand what Kanye was trying to do with it. Visually it looked damn good. I don't really get the story or the purpose. Its funny. I say the same shit about Belly which Hype Williams wrote and direct and he wrote this shit by Kanye as well. Maybe Hype just needs to stick to directing.

This is also a matter of different personality types manifested in a creative capacity (Myers Briggs, INTP, INFP etc). I "get" where Kanye was comming from, keep in mind that Kanye is also a visual artist (as an INTP/INFP). I think Phonte is ok at best, he seem more like a practical kinda artist instead of creative extremes and tangents.

Im an INFP/INTP myself and found that shit to be weird, and a little too reliant on poorly executed symbolism. I laughed out loud when the guy at the dinner table asked, "Do you know your girlfriend is a bird?"

It made me realize how much I'm slacking creatively I have fellow artists/friends told me similar things and seen similar statements from artist on Facebook.

I never like Little Brother because was kinda like "been there done that" as far as that hip hop sound was concerned.
For what it's worth I bought all 3 foreign exchange cd's.
I prefer his singing to rapping and I seen em live and lol'ed a lot. I think his true genus is in comedy, cause he is funny as fuck. Just my taste, he just ok as a rapper to me.To put this into perspective, I used to be big fans of Pharohe Monch, Q-TIP, Nas Black thought, Malik B, Guru, Saffir, Ras Kass and cats of similar ilk.
My tastes nowadays leans more towards dance music and electronica, I'm kind of a music snob I must admit.

To me it's really just a lot of money thrown around. Anything expensive by a rich and popular artist will get a look for a few. Especially one as good as Kanye.
I'm sure their are billions of ambitious projects by lesser or unknown artists, or artists who don't put hot beats behind their work that don't muck up symbolism, and for less money. We don't know them, and we don't care, so we aint talkin about it.
