I stayed in the Taipei airport hotel for 1day back in the late 90s. Our plane was delayed and the passengers got a free buffet. The best Chinese food I ever had.

The History of China/Taiwan beef (Also from another thread):

Taiwan used to be under the control of the Qing Dynasty up until 1912. After the First Sino-Japanese War, China cedes Taiwan to Japan. After WWII, Taiwan was given back to China as part of the Potsdam Agreement. Civil War broke out in China between the government of the Republic of China (ROC), the ruling party, and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). CCP wins and ROC relocates to Taiwan along with over a million Chinese citizens. Japan sides with the ROC on Taiwan since that's who they ceded the land to. ROC signs a mutual defense treaty with the US in the 50s (US trying to stop the spread of Communism so it was on brand). After decades of living under martial law in Taiwan, it becomes a democracy in the 90s.

Crude history but basically China is like that's Chinese land and has always been Chinese land despite yall fleeing to it and trying to set up shop. the other hand, Taiwan is like FUCK YALL, we're our own nation, a democracy (despite only 14 UN members recognizing them as a country - ironically Japan and the US aren't on the list).
As a result of this particular political tiff between the US and China, I read a wiki on taiwan and it's for the most part been over run, or colonized over and over by the dutch, chinese french, spanish, japanese for the last 500+ years. Even the current ROC government was installed by a massive influx of nearly a million chinese fleeing communism from the mainland in the early 50's. When those chinese escaped there ,they looted nearly all the gold, and a huge haul of other national treasure. So of course the current government of China has beef with them. As usual the indigenous people are hardly mentioned after the colonization started.

Almost never. Whether it's Africa, Asia, the US, or Australia. But this is why these two sides are beefing. This shit is about real estate. Even the current Chinese government is full of shit about their intentions. They don't give a fuck about the native Taiwanese either. They want to shut down the strait, grab that oil, expand their land.

Of course its about real estate. Be it militarily strategic advantage points or control over vast amounts of natural resources. We all know the leadership on both sides could give a damn about the native population.

But the people who fled are the one's claiming not to be a part of The People's Republic of China but claim to be The Republic of China (aka Taiwan). Pretty much the continuation of the Chinese civil war between the Nationalist Party and the Communist Party.

I would be careful about this deception, it might give them a pretext not to do manufacturing in the U.S.

They have used this visit to already cancel planned factory battery builds in North America. They have tried to to use overhyped inflation as a reason to drop tariffs against China. You are now dealing with Version 2.0, from Version 1.0 which was being silent about unfair trade and doing nothing.

I would view this event in this context, your politicians in the U.S. are corrupt which is the reason I couldn't do business and left.

Some of yall are funny as hell. There are 5 times as many people in China as the United States. Most of the shit in your house is probably made in China including your guns and medicine. The military can't fulfill its quotas because of your fat and soft kids but China is selling wolf tickets. Why antagonize a muthafucka you don't have to its like going to the club and starting shit with the biggest dude in there who also gave you a ride to the club and is supposed to drop you off.

The greater your population, as compared to land mass, the more susceptible you are to precision strikes destroying infrastructure causing famine. More of your population relies on mass production and couldn't just simply live off the land to sustain yourself during a conflict. They are already in a perilous position desperation importing food and spreading their lack of caloric intake with a low BMI. Sometimes you can hide famine with a Communist System by equally spreading it around versus have 30% of your population starving to death. They sell this anemic look as a standard of beauty for their women, no booty fat at all!

This is what they are literally becoming where one missile strike could easily take out the entire building versus living dispersed in a single family home.

We see in Ukraine or Iraq with centralized power production, nuclear power plants, it was a weakness that the Russian exploited. They could pull the plug on the nuclear power plants and really turn the screws on the Ukrainians.

Than they come in offering you a food ration by accepting them as liberators. We have slowly taken low density food production, to manual labor intensive with fertilizers, to finally mechanized production and turning every square mile into producing food after pumping nitrogen into the soil. There is very little defense spending on decentralizing these systems so that we can survive if they are attacked. China could easily take out a power plant crippling the U.S. economy and hurting food storage. The U.S. communication systems are centralized at a few facility that are readily known, It isn't about the latest stealth or drone technology, it is about making these systems resilient to attack, which would make the U.S. compliant with demands from the PLA military.

No wonder the U.S. struggled in Afghanistan and Vietnam, you can't just take out a centralized system easily that would cripple the country. 10 million people died in Germany when they were kicked out and dumped off in their bombed out country with no food production capacity left.

Conventional warfare is mutually assured destruction, threatening to shoot down her plane is foolhardy.

They tried to get Foxconn to setup in the U.S., showered them with incentives, broke ground and never really did anything. For some reason, they do not like manufacturing anything in the U.S., I don't blame them.

American congressmen gathered in Taiwan again.

The delegation will visit the island today, Reuters reports with reference to the US Embassy.

It is specified that lawmakers led by Senator, member of the Democratic Party Ed Markey will visit Taiwan as part of a trip to the Indo-Pacific region. There they will discuss bilateral relations, security, as well as supply chains.

On August 2, US Congressional Speaker Pelosi visited Taiwan. After that, China began large-scale military exercises in the waters of the island and imposed a number of economic sanctions against it.

I wanted to show the difference between living in a house versus a skyscraper which is what we're doing with agriculture mechanization, power generation, and communications. If these systems are destroyed millions of people will die.

The American CSIS center created a simulation of a potential war between the People's Republic of China and the USA
▪️The model answered negatively that the battle in the air will strategically determine its outcome. The side that has better air defense/PRO, as well as a larger amount of high-quality strike missile systems, will win.
▪️The simulation predicted that 90% of the total losses of the armies of the USA, Taiwan and Japan will be caused by a massive attack by Chinese long-range missiles and kamikaze drones in the air. bases. She gave a negative answer that during the war there will be major air battles like in the case of World War II. of the war (Battle of Britain/ bombing of Germany).
▪️The analysis indicated that the war will be lost by the side that is left without rocket missiles. It is precisely because of this fact that China is rapidly developing its coastal air defense batteries and increasing the number of missiles for ground-attack missile systems of the z-z/z-m class. The number of specialized units for carrying out strategic and operational strikes , which are armed with cancer, is increasing throughout the country. systems and bpl.
▪️ Missile destroyers and corvettes are being built at high speed, which are quickly entering the composition of the Chinese Navy. China is increasing all types of strategic strike components of its weapons, both in terms of quantity and quality, in order to defend its coast, by "flooding" the enemy in the Pacific with an unprecedented amount of missiles.
▪️The model rated the equipping of the Japanese army as slow and insufficient. Also, US military bases in the Pacific face the possibility of being easily destroyed by a simultaneous Chinese missile attack, making it difficult to respond to multiple separate OS lines of confrontation.
** The simulation showed that in the final equation the key role is played by op. capabilities of the US Navy (technical problems and insufficient firepower) that do not correspond to the high cost of its ships (nuclear aircraft carrier Gerald Ford. frig. LCS and rzch of the Zumwalt class) , including a limited amount of missiles for air defense/PRO systems in conflict conditions of high intensity, which in total can hardly stop China's expansion in the Pacific theater of the global geopolitical conflict.

The White House announced the allocation of military assistance to Taiwan in the amount of up to $345 million

“The White House will ask Congress to fund arms for Taiwan as part of a supplemental budget request for Ukraine in an effort to speed up arms supplies to Taipei, two people familiar with the matter told the Financial Times.

If approved by Congress, Taiwan would obtain weapons through a system funded by American taxpayers known as "foreign military financing" for the first time.

“This would be a monumental step that indicates just how far the US government is willing to go to accelerate deterrence across the Taiwan Strait,” said Eric Sayers, managing director at Beacon Global Strategies.”
