Pete Carroll

He dumped on that man and basically said he wasn't ready for the NFL. He is trying to be the first draft pick (go Matt Stafford!!!) and he doesn't need his coach saying some shit like that.

If he don't go number 1 I would sue the shit out of Pete Carroll for dropping his stock. He could have just said I wish he would stick around for one more year but I am behind him. That other shit was extra and uncalled for after the kid has already made his decision.

pete is an honest guy and that was his honest opinion. he's somebody who has been involved with the nfl for years so I trust he is a pretty good evaluator. also in the past if a player is really ready to leave pete supports the fully. sanchez isn't ready and should take another year , it would suck for him if he ends up with the lions or in some other bad situation. Hopefully the patriots will trade cassel and draft him then he can learn without pressure on him to win right now.

haven't even looked at it that way...

the benefit is that the reality ist he NFL will cut you in a new york minute...Sanchez needed another year...plain and simple..same for Stafford

Need I remind you . . . By returning to USC for his senior season in 2005, Leinart probably hurt his draft position, as he most likely would have been selected with the first overall pick of the draft.

If if was a fifth

ummm....last time I checked going back for another year does not equal success. Just like going to college and getting a degree period. Pete Carroll is a selfish muthafucka. He could have said that shit behind closed doors or kept it too himself.

Pete Carroll was hating! He can tell Sanchez whatever he wants to in private but to come out and blast him like that on national TV was uncalled for. What’s he going to say if dude goes out and tears up the NFL? Also, Sanchez probably saw what Matt Linehart went through in terms of coming back for his SR season and slipping in the draft and said fuck that. ALSO- If Carroll wanted him that bad…he should have played him in front of John David Booty last season instead of making him a 1st year starter in 2008. I like Pete but I have to say he’s in the wrong for this one. :smh:

fuck that cornball choke artist carroll he stoops status with rose bowl wins:hmm:

So I guess his weak arm didn't have anything to do with it huh?

Matt's stock would've dropped regardless!

Why would the Pats want to draft up to get a guy thats gonna demand 1st round money? They dont need that bum, and why you guys talking about Sanchez like he some sort of reincarnation of Peyton Manning at Tenn. Sanchez will be a flop and most likely follow the path of Alex Smith, another QB drafted way to high because of a weak QB draft. NO way in hell would I waste a 1st or even 2nd round pick on this guy. He hasn't done shit but back up Leinhart and win a few cupcake games at USC.

The NFL doesn't cut 1rst round picks in a New York minute. Both Stafford and Sanchez are predicted to be 1rst rounders and if they are no team will cut them before their 3rd or 4th year. Why, because teams can't afford to take that big of a hit on their salary cap.

Dont you hate it when people talk like they know shit???:lol:

He never BACKED up Leinart, he was redshirted in Leinarts last year, he backed up Booty. Just the fact that you dont even know what the QB situation was at SC tells me you dont even watch them and therefore your opinion is thrown out.:smh:

OK, well Booty then. That nigga was still on the roster Einstein. And as for as I'm concerned a backup to the backup. So thats even worse. And by the way, how are things working out for Leinhart and Booty right now? *Kat Williams Voice* I'll wait......

No pimpin, a redshirt means your enrolled and allowed to practice but you dont play, so no, he didnt BACKUP anyone. No one ever said Booty was going to be anything but a decent backup, the world could be wrong ala Tom Brady, but not much was expected of Booty, Leinart was a product of his SC squad, scouts picked his ass apart. Thats why he dropped in the draft, his arm is weak and he doesnt pull the trigger. When you dont have a strong arm, you have be on point everywhere else and he isnt ready. He needs to sit a learn. Leinart is still in the pros atleast, more than you can say for UF QBs. Ohh yeah Rex Grossman...

Fuck Pete Carroll. His motives are completely selfish and in his own interest. He should be ashamed for criticizing this young man for chasing his dream and taking the opportunity-which isnt gauranteed to be around next year- to play and/or learn at the next level for a paycheck of atleast 15million gauranteed. Easy for Pete to talk that shit as he banks a few million every year off the backs of his unpaid "student athletes". This entire discussion is absurd. How can anyone judge a young man for this decision especially when we have tons of evidence that says staying in school never automatically equates to improved draft postition. The only thing it gaurantees is that you will lose a year of earning potential and never get it back.

This kid is a LOCK for a top 20 pick and his coach-whom he just won a rose bowl for- being anything less than 100% supportive is a disgrace.

Carroll was wrong. He shouldn't have said it publicly, but he wasn't lying.Sanchez could definatly use another year and USC could use him for another year as well. That said, obviously Sanchez is entering the NFL,not because he is ready, but because he feels its a weak year for QBs.Pretty much everyone is out for self.Sanchez for money and Carroll is mad cuz he has to play a first year starter next year. That said,I dont think Mustain will be much of a dropoff from Sanchez and I dont think Sanchez will play 4 seasons.

IF YOU THINK PETE WAS OUT OF LINE.. CHECK OUT WHAT DID SELFISH FUCK DID WHEN HE LOST 2 OF HIS SUPER STARS TO THE NFL!!

Fam. I guarantee that Carrol didn't say anything in public that he hasn't said to Sanchez and to the scouts in private. Coaches have relationships with scouts and reputations that depend on honest evaluations on everyone's part. If Carrol continually recommend cats that are busters he loses credibility with NFL front office cats and scouts when it's time for a team to take a chance on someone based on what Carroll alone has to say.

In short, even if he sued, it would not hold up in court because Carrol gave an evaluation based on his opinion which is part of the whole NFL process.

I just don't understand why a man who was in the NFL wouldn't have some sort of insight to know whats best for his players.

and after I saw this vid of Carroll a few weeks ago, I see him as a class act..

its not a matter of him not having the NFL insight. its fact that after sanchez made his decision to fully commit to go to the NFL, with no turning back, carroll could of took the high road and simply said he doesn't agree with the decision, but he supports him nonetheless.

him going into details as to why sanchez shouldn't go to the NFL can only hurt his draft stock. especially if carroll keeps saying these things when every NFL GM or coach calls him about sanchez.

my god this draft is so fucking weak
if Stafford and Sanchez didn't declare there would probably be no QBs drafted in the first round

It's not hating, it's a coach who cares about the well being of his players. Call me a hater because I don't think he's ready my damn self. Dude only started 16 games, that ain't enough time to even master the college game talking about you want to go pro. He'll be riding the bench after three years and Pete will be like "told your ass so"!

Man please. This is a coach who cares about the well being of his legacy and football program. How the fuck can you even type that shit without laughing. Surely you dont believe that shit. If any human being can criticize another for taking a professional job which gaurantees millions in compensation as opposed to playing amateur sports for free (a inherently violent sport with a high probability of injury no less) then he is a complete ass clown who has an agenda. Fuck Carroll.

Also, even if you are in denial and have convinced yourself that Pete isnt wrong, then even you have to admit that the way he went about this was utterly disgraceful and disloyal. Again, FUCK CARROLL!
