Say you meet the 'person of your dreams' and you couldn't ask for more in a partner, but your pet (that you love dearly) just doesn't like the person one bit. Eventually, your pet's dislike for your new lover turns into your new lover disliking your pet... And now your problem is you love them both and they both love you, but they hate eachother... What do you do? :dunno:

Me personally I love my dog like a child and if he really loved me he would except it as I would in the same situation.If he doesn't then he isnt my "dream" man

:yes: Fluffy stays! The man might show out and act a fool, but a good pet is loyal and fun till the day it kicks. There would have to be a way to work it out. I know a lady who's bf hated cats- so she actually built (these white folks ofcourse) a LUXURY little cat house adjoining the main house- had central heat and everything :lol:. So when the bf stayed over the cat went into the cat house, when he was gone the cat stayed in the "big" house.

I feel what you're saying in principle, but I don't know if it would be that simple for me in practice. As much as I adore my cat, I know that she's spoiled rotten by me and another woman in the house will catch Hell whenever my cat's in having me to herself mode.

If the ONLY strike against my dream girl is that my cat hates her, I'd be more likely to figure out what to do about Foxy (my cat), more so than my dream girl. The same thing could happen if I have a child who turns out to be allergic to cats... a choice would have to be made.

I wouldn't be so quick to drop my future child's mother anymore than I would my future child for Foxy. I will say this though, it would truly take Hell and high water for me to move Foxy and 10xs that for me to even consider getting rid of her.

damn already answered on the other side. didn't know it was posted here too. anyway, here is my reply:

Dogs are on the vibes. My dogs have never let me down yet. They like most people alot. When they don't like someone, they detect something sinister or impure that I can't see. If my dogs don't like someone then that person is history.

LOL! Yeah, I posted it twice to get both the male and female perspective... and as you can see, they're very different so far (between the boards).

First of all let me let y'll know i have a alergy to cat hair .....with that said ...sometimes its something that cant be "worked out" ....I can understand if you got a child (human) that you will choose them over some person that might not be there in a year or 2 ......but i always get pissed of when i hear people talk about pets like they are people ....now dont get me wrong i love all animals .....but if i have to make a choice between a pet and human "cum"panionship the pet can go ...after all you can buy another pet in the future...but you might not ever find another DREAM MATE

pets are always there for you thru the good the bad and the ugly. rock solid and loyal til the end. besides that they really need you even more. once i could say the same about fickle and backstabbing conniving humans then it would be a different story.

This is true, but I had an American bulldog (Suge) who stuck with me through thick and thin for over a decade (RIP), while women of all caliber came and went. If I'd gotten rid of Suge for anyone those (at the time) dream girls I would have nothing (them nor Suge). Suge was a flirt with the ladies, though. It's other men who had to watch their step around him.

When I had pits, they were very friendly but still in tune with people. If they picked up something about a person I was dealing with, I'd have to go with the dog's instinct. Although I would maybe consult with my best friend who is good at picking up vibes too.

I feel you BIGIRL ....I personally think dogs are backyard pets ...so they should not be able to get between you and a mate ...cats on the other hand i hate ....but that has alot to do with how i grew up and my alergy

I was asked to many times, but never even considered it. Suge wasn't mean to them... they were just intimidated by his looks and afraid of him. There would have to have been a REAL reason for me to take their requests seriously... Not to mention, I'd really been in the trenches with Suge. My loyalty to him was deeper than my lust for them.

I have a small dog who has a napoleon complex. He barks when we leave and when we come home, but he's s a sweetie for the most part. He's got heart though - he'll give strangers the the once over and make sure they understand that it's HIS house, then he's straight. I've had people say "yeah, he's cool, but if we get together, he's got to go." I'm like, "naw, hell, he don't." Bottom line is the man of my dreams would love me for who I am, not who they want me to be - and I come with a child, a dog, a big close family, a crazy schedule and a few idiosyncrasies...the same would be true for me with him. If I can't take him AS IS, he's not for me.

I feel you, but the question pertains more to the man being perfect for you, but it's your dog that doesn't like him. What do you do when the guy is all you could ever ask for in a lover, but your dog is cock blocking and raising hell (to no fault of the guy)? :dunno:

great topic my dog never had to co-sign the "chick of my dreams" per se but
here are two situations my dog was on point.

my pit is 8 years old and house broken. Once I had this gorgeous
chick over her bedroom eyes were powerful. My dog kept trying to get close to her. I kept pushing him back but he would just creep back over to her:lol: he eventually started dry humping her leg,and trying to cuddle with her:eek: Shit was wild I had to put his ass in time out. :lol: But damn I could not even hate on him.:smh:

I had a football party at my crib and had some friends over about ten
of my old classmates. many I ain't seen in years. I was letting everyone
in as my dog was sniiffing everyone right at the threshold before they entered. my dog started growling at one of my friends and would not let him in. My boy grabbed the door handle and shut himself out my house. My boy was a vet doctor..... shit was weird.

No I was saying he'll lay down the law, but he hasn't really just DISLIKED anybody per se. My last boyfriend had to win him over a little - he was sort of indifferent. But he walked him and fed him whenever he was there - they were homies after that. Besides, if dude is truly perfect for me, my dog will like him too. If dude is wrong for me and my dog doesn't warn me, my mama will - so I'm straight ;)
