It appears that a standard contract by males was sent out to these promising artists as well, and the backlash has been there, but not quite the same.

Yeah, a standard deal in music don't mean sh!t to the artist and yeah, it is shady...shadier than the dope game in music!

However, I believe a handful of dynamics play into the vitrol that many feel because a) they have never developed an artist in the industry b) they don't know what it takes to develop an artist in the industry, and c)they allow emotions to outweigh logic when they have never had the money to invest in what these people invest in to get a return on their money.

Yeah, she probably could have "given" them more, but she didn't steal any more money from them any "label" is stealing from their artists right now.

That could possibly be true. One issue we have is that we trust Black faces to treat us better as artists and there's a level of expectations that come with working with Blacks that's not met. In addition, the Black label head abuses that trust and start throwing around that "family" talk, when they should leave it as a business relationship.

By listening to how TLC talks about her, its clear they understand it was business. They don't hate her, they just tell the story as they felt it happened. Her salty reaction is potentially speaking to her conscious.

From the vid posted on Pebbles and as other comments have stated contractually TLC just got played probably similar to how Puffy was doing artists or Eazy E and Jerry Heller and a ton of other wack contracts for young and dumb artists that sign them and got raped.

Tribe Called Qwest called it when they said record companies are shady. Rule 380. But reading the YouTube comments on that Pebbles vid TLC continued having financial problems even after leaving Pebbles even as late as 2009 with T Boz and her van repo or whatever. Even though she had serious health problems and expenses but still...

Funny how some people who got royally screwed in the music biz somehow decided to learn from their negative financial and contractual experiences and smartened up and wised up. Doesn't exonerate Pebbles at all just looks at the bigger picture.
