when factories in black and brown communities around the nation packed up and went to 'the heartland' where the cost of doing business was lower, jobs went with um and thousands of people of color were unemployed and left dangling in the wind trying to scratch out a life for themselves. majority of white folks didn't say sheit about the people of color in the cities who lost their jobs. but now that those same companies are leaving 'the heartland' and heading to mexico or asia i'm supposed to feel bad for those same white folks in 'the heartland' who gave two fuks when the factories and businesses in cities like Watts and Compton closed and moved in the 1960s and 70s?
