PASS/FAIL: Roger Goodell wants teams in Los Angeles & London

too much risk

point shaving, game fixing etc...

Remember a few yrs ago the NBA was talking about having a team out there?

That all exists all over the country. Hell, how many times are we all swearing up and down that some games are already fixed in the NFL.

Besides, the NFL is so damn guarded, they would most certainly take measures to prevent game fixing, point shaving, etc...

1. It would have to be a two team shuffle in divisions for a move to work for LA geographically.

2. Superbowl will never work in London. Those folks like american football as a novelty, but they aren't paying Superbowl ticket prices nor is the average fan going to be able to afford the trip over there as well as tickets.

3. Scheduling for a London would be murder. Basically a visiting team would have to be on bye the week after or Monday at least and the London team could never have a home-away short week. Imagine the bitching of playing home in London on Sunday and then a Thursday night game at San Francisco. SMH

4. Why would a European company sponsor a team for 8 home games when they could spend that money on a football club that is more popular and plays more home matches?

Does he not remember the dismal failure that was NFL europe?!?

american football does not translate internationally:smh:

Hell look at the dismal ass game played there today

:hmm:

Does this dude really think anyone in London, or Europe period, gives a shit about anything other than soccer? London has like five or six Premier League teams in ONE CITY! And the NATIONAL Football League is then no more; you want to piss American off quick and have them abandon the game that has supplanted baseball as America's pastime, let the London Whateverthefucks win a Super Bowl and see how ratings plummet, one think Americans love about American football is that it is OURS and OURS ALONE.

On top of all that, with the concussion issues going on and getting so much burn in American press, you REALLY want to bring that shit on a WORLD stage??

This dude is determined to fuck up a good thing :smh::angry:

Never been to Europe huh? Every game held in London has been sold out...back in the day the London Monarchs would draw crowds of 50,000 before they tried to expand to much

I was stationed in Frankfurt Germany them people were crazy about the Frankfurt Galaxy team..You see Cowboys Steelers 49ers Packer, and Giants gear all over Europe

concussions is already a big issue with Fifa it aint nothing new

From a business standpoint, it makes no sense to have an American football team in London. Los Angeles could, and IMPO, SHOULD have a team there. They could sell that bitch out in seconds if done right, but London? I doubt it.

I get that they can fill up games, but that's the special one game a season match. Manchester United played Barcelona at FedEx field here in DC, and we filled up 90k in a matter of days. Over there, on a consistent basis however, i'd beg to differ.

If United are playing Arsenal at the Emirates with the same kickoff time as the Rams and the home London team, please believe that NFL match will look like this the whole way through.

The only possible way it could work, and this is not in the near future by any stretch of the imagination, is to do what MLS has done in America. Create a smaller league that caters specifically to the daily lives of the American football supporters over there, and let it grow. That's probably the only way you could start gaining consistent interest, enough to fill up stadia across the UK.

They should've never disbanded the NFL Europe, but we all understand the American business mindset.
