ok i just got all this stuff to upgrade this computer.

the new hardrive is a SATA drive so for some reason i couldn't get utilities to work on it to do things like partition. i just installed a fresh copy of vista on it. now i want to partition it out

is there any way i can or do i need to install windows again? it never gave me the option to partition during install. and i don't see the option under computer management.

:(

I wish the best of luck to you on your "quest" to conquer vista...But since you are partitioning the drive, might as well try to put Linux or Mac OS X on it

i wouldn't mind doing that. someone want to drop that info on how to....i have 2 500gigs, 1 160gig and 1 120 gig in there.

i found a way to shrink the drive and then make partition but it won't let me shrink the drive beyond 274gigs.....
