Paramedics Don’t Even Make $15 And They Save Lives"

On what exactly are you basing your opinion on bruh???

the question is what are you basing your opinion on?

everybody i know who left my city has moved to charlotte

and they are not living comfortably off of 40k

so i know youre reaching

I honestly don't know if the fam are all the rich elite and are out of touch with exactly what most people make, or if they're on here fronting like they ain't making what allot of people make. In some cities 30k a year won't get you shit, but in Charlotte, with no kids, with the right spending habits... Shit is enough.

Naw fam, unless you living off Tuckaseegee or over in East Charlotte...you living in N. Charlotte, University, near Pineville shit is getting expensive as they keep building up rail/public transit around the city. It's all in perspective, if you own your own whip with very few liabilities as far as debt, you'll be good. However, you got a car payment, with rent, utilities, food, etc..shit will add up real quick.

Y'all have to look at it the right way.

The question isn't if fast food workers should make so much......the question should be why are other jobs like EMS and others making so little??

those mofo dont have unions

dont forget your gross pay isnt your net pay

nah...thats not living comfortably at all

If you don't live comfortable off 40k in the south, you definitely doing it wrong. I had a crib for 800 a month and a car payment off 40k. Still had money to play with.

You live in Charlotte?

All of this new money coming from up north like NY, NJ and PA and from out west like California. These folks are used to paying $400,000 for shoeboxes..they come out here and they see 5 bed, 5 bath house for $300,000..these folks don't care about bidding wars or wanting to negotiate, they just write checks. Property values as well as taxes have been going up steadily over the past five years due to all of this new money coming into Charlotte.

I live in East Charlotte, right off the Harrisburg road Exit of 485, in 2k square foot house, with a 2012 Civic Si, a dog, and no kids. Is it Posh??? Nope, is it mine??? Yup... Im not caking like that either. So I know it can be done. But everybody doesnt have the discipline and/or money skills to make it work. But I know Im not struggling. I pay shit on time, dont miss meals, and have moeny to save and do shit I want within reason.

True, true...it's going to be interesting to see Charlotte in a few though as more and more people poor in. I might have to retreat up to Concord or Kannapolis within that time frame.

youre argument was 30k

not high 30s man

my friends dont drive civics so i can see the difference there

but still.......

I might could do Harrisburg, or quiet as kept Fort Mill, Rock hill south of the border. But Concord/Concord, well past the speedway and north of that???:smh: I dont venture into to Kannapolis much, but teh fe times Ive been there I wasnt impressed. But I do think the utopia bubble is about to pop in the next few years. Theres not allot of room left in the city to accommodate people without the means to be here.

there are plent of waitress/waiters and bartenders making more than that do nigs be mad at them to

if this is true i stand corrected. In the Atlanta area its more. In the Los Angeles area its more. I think they make 16 bux an hour tho.

Im with you though. Im just saying lets not act like 15 an hour is a big deal when its not.

And the bruh talking about 15k a year can get you a long way in Houston...I guess it just depends on how you want to live and where you're going to live

to all the folks in ATL do you know if this is true Im hearing that

Marta just laid of a shit load of people in good paying positions and now hiring for those same position at 9 dollars a fucking hr...............

30k is not getting you a house, a later model car, and money to save like dude said

i dont care where you live!

hell 30k in some places qualifies you for goverment assistance

Shit man I basically was living off $15. I was making $17 but I worked 70hrs instead of 80 every two weeks. I don't have a house its just me so I so no need to buy a house. Anyway bought brand new(don't know why) 2013 Challenger paid in full when I got it, and I have put this info on here before but I also had more than 30k in the bank not including retirement money. I quit my job and chilled for 8 months that put a little dent in my money still living comfortable though.

I'm in Oklahoma by the way, and my monthly budget is 1400 to 1450.

These muthafuckas say any fuckin thing??

just throwing shit at walls..

nobody gets mad at all these rich poker players and other gamblers for making bread..so why nigs getting mad cause some people who serve 1000's a people a day, mop up floors, clean bathrooms, empty garbage, serve food, take orders, shovel snow, etc want a lil more bread... people be like it dosent take skill to do fastfood..but ask urself does it really take a shitload of skill to play cards..shit is mostly luck..u could be great at the game and juss get shitty hands all nite or u can be not so great and get a great hand alnite.. i bet u could teach a 10 yr old how to play cards quicker than u could teach them how to run a fastfood spot

It's just dishonesty bruh. The thing is that the corporate class in this country has set things up so that everyone is basically getting shafted and the minute that some peons act up and ask for a fair shake the rest of the folks, who are being exploited as well, will essentially feel jilted. "WHY SHOULD THEY GET THAT?!!"

When you look at the numbers the picture is so fucking clear. There's no reason that wages should be where they are.... and that's right across the board. When you adjust for inflation folks should be making waaaaaaay more but because corporations get to set the national agenda (and they have the messaging on lock.... 6 corporations own something like 90% of the media we consume... no exaggeration) people regurgitate bullshit talking points like they're being paid to do so.

The min wage should go up. All wages should be up.... platitudes about automation etc don't really hold up when you see the numbers on productivity and profits over time. Americans are being fucked and it's easier to shout down the folks on the lower end of the pay scale and it's fundamentally by design.

Most of the medics I know in NY work at least 2 jobs because 1 just won't cut it if you want to live alone, outside of the hood and have a car...Most transport companies pay about $20/hr, 911/hospitals in the mid $20's. I believe NY Presbyterian has the highest pay which is about $30/hr starting. And we are still very much underpaid.

Why? Because of the responsibility and liability that comes with the job. We are essentially street doctors, the highest medical level of care that you will get in a pre-hospital setting. Regardless of what info we get from our dispatchers, we are responsible for that patient once we make contact. I know of a few people who were suspended for weeks with no pay because someone "thought" they did something wrong on a call. I even know of a few people who went to court years after treating a patient and had to disprove malfeasance to avoid jail time. All of this and more for $20 bucks an hour.

I'm not going to go off on a rant, but considering job requirements, medics should make as much or more than RN's in most places. Companies get away with underpaying us because medics haven't been around as long as nurses so we are dealing with the same bullshit that they went through before they got union'ed up.

I agree with the fast food workers who feel that they should make $15/hr. People are quick to point fingers at blue collar workers for trying to make a decent living while completely ignoring how CEO pay has increased exponentially. It baffles me how the public has been convinced that they need to work harder to earn less...

Alot of you guys dont seem to travel outside of your immediate vicinity very often and have no perspective or unrealistic estimations on cost of living in other areas in this country.

$15/hr gives you a decent to good living in most areas in this country.

And fastfood button pushers protesting for $15/hr minimum to roll their eyes and fuck up my order are out of their got dam minds.
