I found out earlier this week that Oprah was holding the taping of her season premier in NYC at MSG on the 10th of Septh and the following day. Since Oprah is like human crack on check day, I knew that if I could attach myself to her, I could pick up some nice ends.
I started hitting all the usual suspects for ticket info only to find out that they tix would probably go on sale Saturday morning. I tried calling several different offices or contacts ahead of time to get the edge, but no dice. I woke up this morning and when I started trying to get through to the website that was handling her ticket sales, it seemed as though their server was brought down to it's knees. It was after 5pm before I finally got through and saw the note that due to the high volume, the tickets were sold out.
What did I do wrong? How could I have made this work?
I wanted to get several tickets depening on how much they were and charter a luxury bus up to the rotten apple for middle class women. I thought it was a good opportunity, but I couldnt pull it off.
Does anyone know how much the tickets were giong for? Has anyone tried anything lke this or flipping tickets in general? There's a good article in this months Fast Company Magazine. There's money in tickets!
