I was reading the July 2009 issue of Esquire, and they had an article about Obama called Barack Obama, the Madman. The article stated that one thing Obama is doing compared to past presidents is taking care of situations quickly. It was actually a good read. However, it had me thinking about all the times I try to deal with many things quickly. When I was younger, me and my dad *when he wasn't doing drugs...* would always play chess together. I never understood how he used to beat me ALL THE FUCKING TIME. One day, I took my time with him *frustrating him in the process*, yet that one day I beat him with relative ease. The lesson was, taking your time to plan a serious situation will give you a better chance of success. Something obviously Obama hasn't learn yet, or has he?
What good really comes from speeding through issues? Why not debate with your counterparts about some issues? Whats wrong with debate in general? Speed politics tend to reflect fear. The fear of being challenge. The fear of losing an argument. The fear of being criticize. Notice that whenever the economy comes up as a question, Obama's team *ie anyone who voted for him* would say "well he inherit this mess". I admit, republicans said the same thing right after 9-11 about Clinton. However, the difference is, you NEVER heard Bush blaming 9-11 directly on Clinton. The closest, I MEAN CLOSEST, you hear Bush criticizing Clinton was with the "pre-9/11 mentality" quote. The point is, with the "well I inherit this" quote that Obama often use tell me one thing about Obama. He do not want to look bad. He do not have the stomach of protesters. He do not have the stomach for a strong debate about his issues. In fact, he do not have a strong stomach for anything that doesn't go his way. I predict that we will see a different Obama once one of his programs end up giving a bad taste in most Americans mouth. I'm convince that Obama would do anything to stay in the public's good graces.
With me saying all of this, I'm not rushing to judgment on Obama just yet. Just like I said I'm convince Obama would do anything to stay popular, I believe he would eventually have to become more moderate about his stance on the economy, energy, and the war on terror. The real question is, would many of his followers *yea I said followers* follow him into the world of being a Centrist democrat? What would everyone do when he has to work with the republicans after 2010? Will people be patient? Only time will tell....
